I’d take the chance on him right now. Played for a DII school and stuck with the program as a GA and assistant before taking over as HC and made them elite. 5x DII coach of the year. First year at Drake and has a 30+ win season and only WWs age.

People who know basketball know Bryce Drew. People who know SEC basketball know he more than sucked at Vanderbilt.
Drake's HC is a different discussion. The guy was a very successful D-2 HC and, in his first year as a D-1 coach, with a team comprised of many of his D-2 players, had a tremendous season. Once which included almost as many SEC wins as McMahon and likewise matching McMahon's only notable non-conf. win (K-State). There is reason for interest in McCollum.

The 42-year-old is, right now, ranked seventh in winning rate (70.5 percent) among active coaches with 10 years experience. The names above him? Mark Few, Bill Self, John Calipari, Rick Pitino, Randy Bennett, Sean Miller and Tom Izzo.

Watch Drake play… he is nothing like most mid major coaches that ride the coattails of a few great players that get them a big time job. His offense is creative and efficient. And his defense with a bunch of average athletes is top 5 in the country
