Someone will, but it won’t be Woodward. We ride with the only coach in the SEC not to make the tournament.

Watch a coach's team....that is where the proof is....how do they play defense. Do they have a scheme on the offensive end of the floor? LSU hasn't had one in maybe forever.

Just get over it. LSU is a football and baseball school. Can't have it all, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Drake 81 Vanderbilt 70
Drake 67 Missouri 57

Vanderbilt 80 LSU 72
Missouri 83 LSU 67

If only McMahon was flush with all of that Drake cash. Then you all would be singing a different tune, JACK!

Look at his Wikipedia page.
His record speaks for itself.

Nowadays you have to hire a team. Not just a coach.

You’re in a thread talking about Drake, whose “hired team” is the equivalent of minor league players. Yet, they are beating teams LSU can’t beat.

Stop allowing the AD and puds in the local media gaslight you. LSU’s only problem is their HC. Fix that and you’ll “magically” see the players get a lot better

I don’t like McMahon, but that’s silly. A random outcome can occur in a 1 game scenario, over the course of a full season vs SEC competition they’d likely be close to LSU in terms of record.

Well a two game scenario because they're 2-0 against SEC teams we're 0-2 against. So he'd just have to take his team that's half D2 players and win one more to equal McMahon's total and he hasn't even gotten to face S. Carolina yet.

If you think that talent level would have a winning record (or close to it) over a full SEC schedule I don’t know what to tell you. I’m sure the guy is a good coach, but let’s not over do this.

He wouldn’t have a winning record with his current roster, but give him LSU’s current roster and I bet he would win more than 3 games.

That’s a fair argument and you’re likely correct.

Drake also beat Kansas St this year (LSU’s “biggest” non-conference win) along with a bottom tier ACC team (Miami) similar to LSU (Florida St).

Would Drake, with their roster, be a top 1/2 SEC team? Probably not. But they would perform FAR better than McMahon’s LSU team this year. That, I’m confident of.

So basically the McMahon hire all over again

This would be nothing like the McMahon hire.

This guy won 4 national championships in a 6 year span at D2 NW Missouri St.

He brought a bunch of his D2 players to Drake, they start 4 of them in fact, and they just not only won the MVC regular season championship which is a very competitive basketball league, won 3 games in the MVC tournament to lock in a tourney spot, won 30 games total before the NCAAT and now just took down a pretty dang good 6 seeded Mizzou team in the NCAAT and you know Texas Tech is not looking forward to this game over the weekend.

Prior to him coaching at NW Missouri St, NW Missouri St had never been to a D2 championship game or final 4. In fact in only 2 seasons prior to him getting there did they ever even win a game in the D2 tournament....so he didnt take over some well oiled winning machine exactly.

Dude is a winner.

This x100000

If the guy could coach, it doesn't matter who you ran out on the court, the team should be competitive.
