Exactly, LSU didn’t give two shits about Alabama beating them 28-2 and taking the series four weeks before bitch-slapping them for the 1997 CWS title.

So it looks like Texas, 1-2 vs LSU
MOO state, 1-4 vs LSU
and Piggie, 1-4 vs LSU goes to Omaha, LSU’s worst team in half a decade, at least.
They’re gloating their asses off right now, yet none of them could beat us at our worst. Pretty telling as far a a Blue Blood resume goes.
Rooting against all three, fwiw.

Because the point wasn’t that LSU could have won the CWS this year. The point was that they could have made the CWS with a path like Miss State’s or Texas’.
ETA: LSU was only 3-1-1 in series against CWS participants this year.

You forget that the day after the 28-2 game, LSU won the regular season championship with a win in Tuscaloosa.
