I don’t feel like it’s been said enough here tonight...... Hess is right where he belongs coming out of the pen. This should have been dine a while back. So much energy he brings to the team.

He certainly proved that he is a bullpen monster!

Some guys are just better suited to the bullpen. Hess is a classic example. His energy is contagious; late in the game when the team (and fans) need it most.

Reminds me of Joba Chamberlain. His stuff was absolutely electric but he didn't know how to control it and actually pitch around a batting order.

Fortunately, Hess has realized his weakness.

His fastball was still 95-96 when he got pulled......Between him, Fontenot, and Peterson........that has to be the nastiest bullpen in the nation! 95mph + coming at you after seeing 90mph max from our current starters.......

to me, there was an immediate and noticeable change in his demeanor. the guy is a reliever/closer in his mentality. i definitely think he has a future in the pros as a closer

I agree. He’s performed as a starter, he’s absolutely dominated as a bullpen/closer. He went from good to best in the country; by far.

If it’s true he reqieat d this, GREAT on him

Glad Paul made the move now rather than to continue the inconsistent Friday night starts. Now we just need to get a couple of the injured guys back and make a run at this damn thing.

He was like a fish BACK in water no doubt.

A great white with a chainsaw for a Johnson type fish.

Loved it.
