TIEF-By YOUR standards the Duke Lacrosse team was LAWFULLY ACCUSED so i guess they should be in prison huh? How did that work out for being LAWFULLY ACCUSED??????

I guess we'll see. Your initial diatribe was to villify Les. No one man is infallible. I do believe Les is going to exercise anything in his power to get to the bottom of the issue. He has proven it before.

So, why don't you let the correct course of action take place before you condem Les and Jalen...

Exactly. I don't know what happened. You don't know what happened. We don't know what happened. With the presumption of innocence, perhaps we should not rush to punishment. Perhaps he should reeive the benefit of due process.

With Ray Rice, we know what happened. Law enforcement and, apparently, the NFL saw the video of what happened.

With Ray McDonald, we don't know what happened. He gets to play.

Hope he isn't proven guilty or this thread could look really shitty in the future.

I would just be careful in praising Mills and Les before the matter is resolved huh?
Here's the thing. He might be guilty. He might NOT be guilty.

However, we can praise Miles for doing the right thing now as long as doesn't know whether Mills is guilty or not. Miles doesn't look bad by letting him play while the process plays out. That's the whole thing about due prcess and the presumption of innocence.

If Mills is found guilty, we can deal with those facts at that time.

Until that time, Mills is presumed innocent and he gets the benefit of due process.

Perhaps you would rather LSU be coached by Theodoric of York, Medieval Judge.

..of a misdemeanor?

meh...not that big of a deal.

This is not the OJ case.

Besides, how would anyone (you or the other 'side') look foolish based upon the results of a court case?

He is only accused at this time. He enjoys the presumption of innocence. Were he to plead guilty or be found guilty, that presumption is removed. No one is foolish for requiring guilt to be averred or proved prior to losing support.

Again, we are talking about a misdemeanor. Had he pleaded guilty to it when the charges were reduced....nothing would have changed. He would be on the team, he'd be playing, I'd be cheering like hell for him.

Jalen, obviously. You are missing the point: it is never wrong to wait until the process is resolved and the truth is known before taking action. Like I said before, whether Mills is guilty or innocent, Miles still will have done the right (and smart) thing by waiting until the process is resolved before acting.

For that matter, disciplining Mills for committing the crime now would be wrong (and not smart) even if he later turned out to be guilty.

To answer your last question, it'll be Jalen. And that's it. Not any fan...or person period...that understands he is innocent until proven guilty. Go ahead and throw in yourself as well, for automatically implying guilt with your first idiotic post in this thread.

Oh, and learn how to quote.

Again I hope he is innocent also but if he is proven guilty who is going to be more of an idiot, Les, Jalen or you?

This. Miles gets it. I truly believe he loves those kids. And he would adamantly defend any of them unless given a reason not to. He obviously hasn't been given a reason. The results of the case have no affect on whether or not he's doing the right thing at this point. And his players know this.

So the question is....should a player be allowed to continue playing when they are under a cloud of suspicion?

Why is this always some fan's automatic response to something they don't like? This is a cop out.
