I actually dont completely hate it. We had a record breaking offense with Steve taking up a seat as oc and brady being pgc, so maybe now linehan can take up a seat and calloway can work magic

You think the new coach will promote Callaway to OC?

Callaway spent the last 4 seasons as the OC at Samford. Why would he need to be "groomed"?

quote:

In 2016, Callaway’s offense ranked third among all FCS schools in passing offense, averaging 349.4 passing yards per game. The offense also ranked sixth in the nation in red zone offense (90.2%), 11th in team passing efficiency (155.24), 12th in scoring offense (35.1 ppg.) and 14th in total offense (446.2 ypg.).

quote:

The team’s 2017 offense led the SoCon and ranked fifth in the nation in passing yards per game

quote:

For the last two seasons, Callaway mentored record-setting quarterback Devlin Hodges. In 2018, Hodges earned the Walter Payton Award for the top offensive player in all of FCS football. That season, Hodges set a school record with 4,283 yards. For his career, the three-time SoCon Offensive Player of the Year and All-American, passed for an FCS-record 14,584, breaking the old record set by Steve McNair.

Better plan—clean house from top to bottom and start fresh:

Just fire Linehan, promote Callaway, and bring in another bright young mind as PGC to replace Callaway if/when he moves on to a HC gig.

Callaway has already been a OC why would he need grooming? he will probably teach Linnehan a thing or two about modern offenses if he was OC.

O doesn’t have another year to let someone frick up this offense. How about we hire a competent OC, a quarterbacks coach and no more of this shite PGC.

If Linehan is OC, we’re hiring a brand new staff in 2022.

Under what circumstances would you hire an OC from Samford?

Sounds like a plan.
O clearly is aiming for the coveted Larry Coker/Gene Chizik award.

It’s good long term thinking when you’re in crisis mode. I wonder if that’s in his fricking binder.
