Here's something interesting: Walkon Tryouts.

Restricted to offensive and defensive linemen and tight ends.
I'm guessing they'll have different tryouts for linebackers, DB's and offensive skill guys, but maybe this is an indication of where we want to get numbers.

I still have 4 years of college eligibility remaining, I may need to go back to school.

This is how you get practice dummies.

Somehow the movie Invincible comes to mind. I’m sure some fat slob Ranter will give it a go like that dude in the cape.

OL DL or TE
So you don't necessarily have to be in shape, we got some size for those that post here
2.5 gpa - might eliminate several candidates

Are you talking high school?

It would be a tragedy of epic proportions If someone on this board tries out for the team and doesn’t share the experience with us.

Doesn't every school do this?

Yes, but every once in a while, a tight end actually makes it to scholarship.

Will there be a Chad Powers sighting?

I don’t have any eligibility left, somebody else will have to step up

Let me tell it to you as clean as I can. We have 95 players here so accomplished as athletes in high school, we gave them full scholarships to one of the best football programs in the country. NCAA regulations allow us to dress just 60 for home games, which means at least 35 scholarship players are gonna be watching the game from the stands. So if any of you has any fantasies about running out of that stadium tunnel with your gold helmet shining in the sun, you best leave them right here. Of you 15 dreamers out there maybe we'll keep one or two. My job is to basically beat the shite out of you for the next 5 days, and whoever is still standing at the end, maybe we'll use for our scout teams. You'll be running the oppositions plays week in and week out. The greatest value to us is we don't care whether you get hurt. Our first teams are going to pound on you like you're their worst enemies. Like what you hear so far? Any of you wanna run home to momma? Now's your chance. No? They're all yours.

That’s accurate
But it does come with a ton of respect if you stick it out
And much of that comes from the academic sacrifices necessary
