I'm so glad the game is on for Saturday at 7 pm in Death Valley, BUT here's the problem for us out of town supporters: There are no hotel rooms from Lafayette to Hammond, to Gonzales or anywhere in between. What are we fans supposed to do? We are driving 4 1/2 hours to support our Tigers, and the Baton Rouge area, but can't find a place to stay. I've read threads where people are still without electricity, and the area still has damage. So what's a fan to do? :banghead:

fellow tiger fans should let you stay the night in their homes, i would, but i live in an apartment with roommates, i'd have to ask permission first

Wish I could help but I'm without electricity too. Guess you're pretty screwed man. Oh well that comes with the territory I guess.

Go to your nearest Academy or other sporting goods store, buy a big tent and some sleeping bags/air mattresses, set up your tailgating site and camp out. Voila. Instant place to stay.

This is the time where you ask yourself is coming in and having to drive 5 hours back home, right after the game, really worth it to see LSU beat North Texas.

give a big thank you to Jindal for putting in an executive order yesterday to let all personal working here have hotel rooms. Even if you had a reservation already you could lose it if they put the workers in the hotel you were gonna stay at

Tiger Stadium still has dorm rooms in it. I would suggest drinking heavily, then you won't really care where you pass out! Those are my plans at least!

Getting a tent and camping out may be an option, however with the wind and heavy rain expected on Fri and Sat it wont be much fun

yes, because your comfort after a football game is much more important that a bunch of recovery workers working to get power restored to people who have been without power for over a week.

I will thank him for actually being a competent leader during and after the hurricane.
To the original poster, drink a red bull and drive home after the game.

guess I should have know there would be a smartass in the group. I'm not saying put anyone out, my point is that the out of town supporters are having a difficult time finding a room to come to YOUR city, bring money into YOUR city, and to support the team.

I don't think anyone is trying to piss you off but if it comes down to you vs. someone fixing my electricity...you're on your own. I understand people wanna see a football game but you have to consider it before hand that a storm DID hit here and there are things going on other than football. I'm all for the game being played but it pisses me off that people are bitching about driving into a place that still has a ton of people without power and whining about all their "needs". Like the other guy said, is it really worth it.

I'm pretty sure that, for this one weekend, MY city can get by without YOUR 49.95 a night at the Taintlick Inn. There are some MORE IMPORTANT things to be addressed at this time, jackleg.

I absolutely agree.....I wasn't bitching, I was hoping someone might know of some cancellations. I have family in Denham, Prairieville and Zachary and I am VERY sympathetic to the needs of the area. And if I didn't have a family member playing, it wouldn't be a big deal....but I want to watch him when I can. I wasn't trying to step on everyone's toes, just merely inquiring.
