I think Charlie Weiss has a little work to do.
I hardly think that beating Hawaii will prove anything to Notre Dame fans.
It's pretty disturbing that LSU needs a victory over Georgia Tech to soothe our fans.

WRONG...bitch arse pansies need to stop whining and BE FANS!! FAN is short for FANATIC!
FANATIC
noun
a person whose extreme zeal, piety, etc. goes beyond what is reasonable; zealot
To sum it up, don't be a bitch, support your team!!
Signed,
Lifelong Saints Fan!!!

After losing to Boise State and West Virginia last two seasons, Bob Stoops has the most to prove.

do you agree or disagree with this?
While I disagree with the premise that any coach has "something" to prove, and recognizing that LSU is an underdog in the "Bowl formerly known as the Peach Bowl" - I would say that Les is certainly high on the "his coaching is being watched closely" list of those who are actually in bowl games.
Therefore, Rich Rodriquez can focus solely on recruiting, as he has no bowl game for which to prepare. (That's right.... I went there.)
Charlie Weiss is coaching against Hawaii in their own bowl, so that might be worth watching....
I assume that Weiss has the second most to prove in bowl season, as he has never head coached a bowl win, and this is as good a chance he will ever get.

I think hiring a real DC would soothe our fans more than beating GT.

WOW Herbstreit, going out on a limb with that statement

Disagree. This game has no bearing for Miles personally whatsoever. It has some bearing for the confidence of the team going into next year.

If he has to win the fan base back after the last 4 years then the fan base is hopeless.

Most of the dipshits around here say that the Chic Bowl if beneath LSU and that they wouldn't even attend if the CoD coordinators weren't fired.
What does Miles prove by winning this game? He sure as hell won't get the bashers off his back and the guys that support him won't think any more of him.

taking a team to a national championship and then being ranked as high as #6 only to lose 5 games and have the worst record ever by a team winning a N/C. I would say he has something to prove. This team regressed all season and he lost this team (no discipline)and never made adjustments on defense.

agree. Miles needs this team to play well and win the bowl game.
I definitely agree with that. We need to destroy them. That would be awesome if we do.

Don't worry after Lester works up a list of what plays Crowton should run, Tech won't know what hit'em.

Agree with Weiss above. Stoops, I guess. What about (Bill)? Stewart of WVU or whoever the coach of Utah is has to prove they deserve a BCS spot.

The list of candidates is sufficient enough that for Herbie to single out Miles is an obvious attempt at weakening his support.
Lot to prove includes:
1) Whittingham (Utah), undefeated justifiably, or just Hawaii part deaux? He has the most to prove, IMHO
2) Weis, hanging by a thread
3) Stoops, for reasons already mentioned
4) Tressel, 3 blowouts in a row? Will he find his seat getting unseasonably warm?
5) Richt, from #1 ranking to losing 3 of his last 5. With CLOSE wins against Aub & Ky
6) Saban, does a loss against lowly Utah, after an undefeated season raise eyebrows?

Herbstreit is definitely trying to get even with Miles for humiliating him over the Michigan job. Don't forget that LM went out of his way to be theatrical so herbst was embarrassed

And let no one forget,
Miles was a Michigan man, and Herbie was an Ohio St man
The hate runs deep and wide and both ways
