More relevantly, field position is part of the process of winning.
Exactly- Miles played the odds and pinned bama back instead of trying 50 yard goals.
Saban got out coached.

Brad Wing, MVP of that game

You didnt say dominated but you mentioned those stats as it correlated with how Bama outplayed us. The TOP stats do not indicate that. Neither do total yards. If anything, compare total yards 1st half vs 2nd half. Bama gained 120 total yards from 3:00 left in the 2nd quarter until the end of the game. They totall outplayed us

They passed on us more

If you don't think that Herbstreit is influential, then you don't know what you're talking about.
It is just amazing to me how someone who does this for a living can have the opinions he does.
It is amazing that this a-hole (Herbstreit) gets paid to sit around and spew his propaganda bullshite. I can do that on the Rant for 8 hours a day. Where da fuc* is my paycheck ?
It is time to face the truth, No one is going to win but LSU. Old man Verne and Brent Mudburger and Lou, I have altheimers, Holtz can all sit around the nursing home in a few years claiming how great those USC teams were and how awesome Tim Tebow fought, and how Nick Saban should be the greatest of all time, including the Bear. There opinions don't mean JackShite. They all need to go find a real fricking job that benefits society instead of getting off to their useless egos.

People need to realize the special teams and field goals are apart of the game

He's just mad because his prediction of Oregon winning the title went south after they lost their 2nd game.

i think so also. two big wheel routes to TR were busted coverages by us. we will have to do better at dinking and dunking along with intermediate throws by JJ to win again because bama will go all out to stop the speed option this time i would think. JJ is best when rolled out. make the read and if it is not there RUN!

We outplayed Bama, plain and simple.
We help TR to 36 yards rushing in the second half and less than 100 for the whole game.
Our offense played themselves into position for easy FGs. Bama's offense stmubled, forcing their kickers to miss from 43, 50 and 49.
Did Bama even get past LSU's 10 yard line one time? I don't think so.
So, that's a stupid comment to make. Defense dominated on both sides, but our offense outplayed their defense moreso than the inverse, and made for easy LSU FGs. Bama's offense couldn't even get into easy FG range and suffered because of it.

yes, and they understand and profit by the saying "perception is reality". welcome to america where being a consumer is paramount to being a dumb arse. i have a degree (from LSU) in marketing and i learned this many moons ago. the heart and the brain have no connection at all and the heart trumps the brain virtually all the time.

I'm too lazy, can someone do a yardage breakdown by quarters?
By Quarters (including Overtime)
LSU Run 12, 51, 31, 37, 17
LSU Pass 24, 32, 16, 14, 0
LSU Tot 36, 83, 47, 51, 17
Ala Run 44, 27, 3, 53, -5
Ala Pass 38, 40, 35, 44, 2
Ala Tot 82, 67, 38, 97, -3
Alabama won 1st and 4th Quarters, LSU won 2nd and 3rd Quarters including OT
(doesn't include penalty yardage)

Well the Gumps are sticking to it. I really don't remember, but didn't Randall drop a pass in the end zone and if Sheppard didn't have to wait on the ball around the 10. Would not both them been TD's. That should have been 14 points there. Did the gumps even get past the 30? Who out played who.

I heard so many bama fans say "if we had a good kicker, we would have won" well that sure as hell can go both ways. And I'm sure I'll hear it again when we win.
