How has that worked out for college football in the last 6 years?
Worked great for some SEC teams. Playing SEC teams in this century has been a very successful enterprise for USC though, so I'd like to see that continue.

LSU would shut them down just like Oregon
Completely different offenses between The Ducks and USC.

That's what Oregon was saying before they had to play one of the good SEC teams. Simple fact of the matter is that USC doesn't have the balls to schedule a top ranked SEC school.

Herbstreit is a dumb count. USC lost two games. LSU lost no games, playing a much more difficult schedule. Against their lone common opponent, LSU dismantled Oregon, USC needed a missed field goal as time expired to prevail. As I said, Herbstreit is a buffoonish pudenda.

USC has a stellar track record against the SEC (as they do against most conferences). Methinks this year they might be sorely outmanned... neutral field or not.
Alas, *nothing* will stir up Tiger Nation like USC. You'd expect the bitterness from 2003 to be the other way around but it never has been.

Just become good enough to reach the BCSNCG and you will get your wish....Lord knows, we/SEC have been waiting long enough for you.
Hey, I have no problem with USC.
You have a fine school with an elite sports history.
Maybe someday we will get that match.

Thanks for the link. Hadn't heard anything from USC fans in a while. They give Bama fans a run for their money as being the most arrogant, obnoxious in the nation.

We'd actually like to see a new trend, ....you know maybe scheduling a home and home with an SEC team with less than 4 losses....unlike the Arky and Auburn teams you beat between 2002 and 2007 when you guys were loaded. I'm guessing that's not gonna happen with impending sanctions.

Amazing how much love USC gets
Disney is based less than an hour from USC's campus, and ESPN is owned by Disney, and Disney is always playing to the ratings because they are obligated to maximize their profits each quarter over quarter, so playing to the 26 million in Southern California is just gonna happen. Ergo, give any reasonable basis to promote USC and to endear Herbie to that large demographic, and wahlah....that is not amazing, that is logical and sad.

Auburn was a good team in 2002 when they came out to Los Angeles and lost to USC. They finished with a 5-3 record in the SEC, and beat LSU 31-7.
In 2003 they were ranked #6 in the nation when we shut them out at Jordan-Hare. They never recovered. Still, they managed wins over a couple of top 10 teams and finished at 5-3 in the SEC, and 8-5 overall.
The 2005 Arkansas Razorbacks finished with a 4-7 record. They were a young team, and it showed against USC in a 70-17 loss. They improved a bit by season's end. LSU beat them 19-17 in the Hogs' season finale.
The 2006 Arkansas Razorbacks would become the SEC West Champions that season, and reached the SEC Championship Game. They started off their season by losing to USC 50-14.

Your guess, sadly, is likely to be accurate, although it won't be anything to do with sanctions.
Regarding the SEC, Pat Haden has said he wants to play as many of those teams as possible.
Unless it is a last minute "kickoff classic" (An SEC team cancelled on us when presented that opportunity just recently) or in a BCS post game matchup, it is not likely.

LATE CHUCK==I don't know what you are talking about. All I have heard about this year is LSU and Alabama and the so called game of the century.

Actully jmac==the west coast is despised by the media. The news boys are east coast drones.

geax==USC will play anyone and has proven that over the years.

And they'll still be on probation and in-eligible for a BCS game.
