The positigers automatically think with better players coming in, the will be a great basketball team next year. I'm not saying they will be or won't be, but what has JJ showed you this year to think that?

Missouri, auburn, NCstate, Miss st, A&M twice are all games that LSU had 2 of the best player on the court and still lost. So why will it be different with Simmons?

The coach and therefore the team have no idea how to play the last 8 minutes of a game.

Basketball is about talent. If you have a player that can cross a defender up, take off from the charge circle and dunk, the other coaches arent saying," why didnt i think of that play?".
We have improved every year under CJJ.

What? We played like we were supposed to with a lead. Long possessions that shorten a game. Our back court just went cold and made bad decisions (if we had depth you could punish players for bad decisions, but we dont have depth) and Mickey missed 6 straight free throws to ice the game.

So if its just about talent then Miss st, Missouri and auburn had more talent than LSU?

What about the Arkansas game? The West Virginia game? The Georgia game? The SCar game? We sure as hell played well late in those games.

Posters on this site have severely overrated lsu's talent. We have 1 player that would make a NBA roster and that's Martin. Even Martin may be a question if he isnt really 6'10. In today's college game, success usually hinges on how good your back court is. That's why you see LSU look great (when our guards play well)and look lost ( when our guards played bad).
Next year we have 2 new players that can handle the ball and create their own shot.

Maybe you're right but the talent on LSU was superior to NC State.

NC State IMO was a very mediocre, jump shooting team.

What I saw was poor ball movement and weak PG play - LSU bigs settling for jumpers. With the size advantage and a great PG, LSU wins handily with a lot of easy buckets in the paint.

I wouldn't say the WVU game. We were fortunate that Gray saved us in that game.

As a longtime MBB season ticket holder, I believe that this year's team played much better than last year's team or JJ's first LSU team. If even one of the M&M guys stay, I think our 2015-16 team will be better in most regards, compared to this year's team. If they BOTH leave, I'll wait and see if we are a better team next year.

NC State was both a higher seed than we were and favored to win by Vegas. Talent looked about equal TO OUR'S, PLAYERS 1-5 and better than us players 6-8.

NC ST had dept in the front court we didn't that's why near the end of games our bigs just don't have much gas in the tank. If our big 2 leave we will be in the same boat next year again. JJ has only 1 big coming in next year. We need to find another big who can come in to give our starters a rest so at the end of games we aren't just roughing it out at the end of games like we have done all this season

All of this. They were favored and ranked higher for a reason. Yes, LSU had the game but don't think that NCState doesn't have players equally as talented.

None of there bigs will sniff the NBA. But they are good college level bigs and they rotate 4 all game. Talent is good but tired talent will get you beat

We can't fight city hall Jac. I've said that all year. Guard play is paramount, watch the Fukin games, watch the last three possessions of good teams, it's all created by a guard making a play to force action..Next year we will have three players(Malik) that can take over a possession and make a play to win games. CJJ main job will be to make sure these stars buy in to team first and it will be fun to watch

Not at the collegiate level. In cbb , talent and experience trump coaching and fundamentals. I'm not saying coaching doesn't matter but talent can make any coaching decision/ scheme, look great.

LSU may not have any front court players that will make it in the NBA.
Mickey is too slow to play/guard NBA SF's and not big enough to play/guard NBA PF's.
If Martin is actually 6'10, then he has a shot to make a NBA team.
Last year Martin was listed at 6'8 and now he is listed 6'10.
Most humans dont grow 2 inches in college. Its very rare for 20 year old to grow 2 inches
