Whats the general consensus on heckling the right fielder?

I don't know about right field, but when they put the LF bleachers in, we'd get to insulting the guy's family by the end of a series.

the heckling is really piss poor these days. maybe it's the texting culture we have today that doesn't allow these kids to come up with anything half-way funny anymore.

Maybe shouldn't be allowed to talk at sporting events. Or make noise for that matter. Its disturbing to others. We need to be respecful. A quiet, unrowdy stadium would be something we could all enjoy. Also, no standing up, its kind of an inconvenience for me to standup during a big play. I'll send a letter to Skip to get this going.

Its not that they are making noise, its that what they are sayings is completely stupid and they are just screaming shite because they think they are kool do be doing so. If the player screws up im all for getting on him, or if you have something funny then go for it. but the "Hey- you suck" or "hey dont move if you hear me----ohhhh yeah you hear me" crap is rediculous...then the people talking just sound like idiots.

I guess the thing that aggravates me the most is - if you have something funny to say then go for it, if not just shut up and cheer on the tigers.

Its college. Don't act like its some unique thing to our university and everyone else is so much smarter, wittier, and wonderful. Drunk people say dumb stuff. Its like going to a highschool football game and wondering why everyone is painted up head to toe. Yes it might be dumb, but it comes with the territory. Deal with it.

why?

On another note, why even complain, its not going to change anything, its still gonna happen. I really do believe the ones complaining just started following this team in the last year or so, because this has been going on for about at least the last 15 years.

I think most people are missing the point. There are two distinct, yet effective ways to heckle the OF...

One is with creative nuances that said heckler derives from research. The other is just to annoy the hell out of him. Both are quite effective.

There's a reason why the home team has this thing called "home field advantage".

For those who don't like the heckling, go sit in the gold seats. There's usually a few hundred of them empty each game. Or better yet, listen to it on the radio...but I'm sure that's too much because you can still hear Chris Guillot who I'm certain doesn't adhere to your guidelines of being respectful and kind.

If you want nice, go watch a gymnastics meet.

true

you can defiantly get away from the heckling esp early in the season.

would it be out of line for me to get drunk as frick and go the the LSU bama softball game?

Moo St's Derek?Hagan, the leading hitter in the SEC went 0-12 one series at the box. We got under his skin and we could tell. Him going 0'fer only made it worse for him.

If the heckling is done right, it's great. Some people don't have anything clever though. They need to STFU and just cheer for the Tigers.

When was the last time you went to a baseball game at the Box?
If you base your opinion of LSU fans heckling on a bunch of rantards you're even more ignorant than I thought possible.

Tough call...it's softball, but it's Alabama....

I'll just warn you, some of the players' parents sit in the right field bleachers at Tiger Park.

So, which one of you comedic geniuses on Saturday yelled "Hey, the best part of you ran down your daddy's leg." That was really really awesome. I mean freaking hilarious. I have never heard that before, and it made my day. I was literally doubled over with laughter because it was so creative and fresh. And everyone in the area loved it- toddlers, young kids, and adults alike. Thanks so much for that.
