Heckling at the Box

Whats the general consensus on heckling the right fielder? Acceptable if keep clean? I ask this because today I saw a couple in their 40s sitting way over in right field (101) blow up on this student who was heckling the Illinois right fielder (pete?). The old guy keep telling the kid that he was going to kick his arse and make him shut his mouth if he didn't stop. I'm all for heckling the players besides the kid today took the number of kids into consideration and keep it extremely clean. What say you?

just keep it clean and light-hearted and it is okay with me.

I dont mind it as long as its clean....But i was sitting in 101 today and it is pretty stupid to be heckling the right fielder when LSU is getting their asses handed to them losing 6-0 with 2 hits through 8. Then you just look stupid

eh, i disagree.
I also think its silly for that guy to get on the student. Yesterday I had a guy in his 60's come up to me and thank me for the laughs he had.
Its usually all in good fun, and when someone steps out of line they are quickly corrected.

Yeah he keep it really clean for a Sunday but that old man and his wife were just livid.

It was clean but pretty stupid. Some people dont like to watch a ballgame when they have to listen to 3 college age students sound like idiots the whole time. It would have been one thing if they were funny.
And dont say "well dont come to the game if you dont want to hear that or sit somewhere else" because im sure they would have loved to been sitting in the gold/purple seats where they could cheer/enjoy the game

On Friday night, I had a lady in front of me in 102 stare me down for a good 20 seconds during a 3-0 count when I yelled BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL FOURRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Thing is, you can get that kinda yelling in the Gold Seats too...
Basically, some people are ridiculous. Wish I wasn't so lazy and I would have joined in the heckling today...

I didn't go to the game, but I'm willing to bet there was plenty of room for this guy to sit down there.

The sheet I was handed on Friday that had the right fielder's parents and sister's name was money. Props to who ever made that.

Shoot, down in the visitor's bullpen on Friday night, a fellow was getting after their starter, Haig, while he was warming up. Haig's dad was there. He filmed it all on his camcorder with a smile on his face.
That said, we had some moron teenagers there too who kept it up even when we were struggling and in generic and ugly terms.
Keep it funny, folks, and ridiculous. Visitors love it.

I don't have a problem with it per say, as long as it is clean and in good taste....
I do have to say, that hecklers irritate the living shite out of me as a fan regardless of who's side they are on....I just get tired of the mindless chatter pretty quickly...

No one enjoys an obnoxious fan or fans. It certainly ruins the pleasure of watching the game. Look at the problems created at the football games due to a limited number of students who aren't yet ready for college from a maturity standpoint. It's a shame and I feel sorry for the people whose good times are damaged by these children.

Could we be a little more dramatic. Please?
I'm guessing you don't attend football or basketball games because of the constant heckling of the defense.

I don't care if it's dirty as long as it's really funny when it's dirty.

I don't mind it when it's funny.
Here are some rules I think the good heckler should abide by.
1. Don't waste all the good shite too early. Problem is, Friday nights down in 101 get lame by the 3rd inning. The students have already run out of funny stuff to say, and end up with "You suck (insert RF's name here)" the whole time. That is not funny, it's really lame.
2. If it's dirty, it better be REALLY funny...as in get the entire section laughing.
3. Wait for things to quiet down before you say something. The rightfielder could give a shite if he hears alot of things he can't understand. Wait for a dull moment, and bust it out.
4. Forget the facebook info. I mean, it's good...and SOMETIMES creative. But look up some previous years stats. Find out when he struck out with the sacks full in the bottom of the ninth or something. That shite is out there...
5. Hand in hand with #1, heckling is about timing. It's not about who can yell the most stuff in a 3-out span during the bottom half of the inning. It's about what is funny, and what will irritate him, and what can be heard by him.
6. Pay attention to the game as well...
7. Seriously...something other than "You suck (RF's name)" will suffice. The unison "You suck" chants are worse...and the oh-we-oh chant was even worse than that. Like I said...be creative and funny.
Bottom line: At the end of the day, you don't want the kid saying..."Gee, those LSU fans are lame and annoying." You want him saying how creative we were, but how much we got to him. You want him to tip the cap at the end of the series and saying "I gotta hand it to the Tiger fans, they are ruthless."

I think people are over analyzing this, to be honest.
