while likely he may have a concussion, you do realize you don't have to have one just because you were knocked out.

Will be out a couple weeks.
I'm guessing you're a neurologist, Dr. Tigernomics ... besides what you saw on the game telecast (subjective opinion), what diagnostic testing was performed on Serna to objectively delineate his diagnosis (Concussion Grade I, Grade II, or Grade III) and the medical treatment recommendations?
Is Serna experiencing any of the following symptoms: headache, dizziness, nausea, balance problems, blurred vision, ringing in the ears, and sensitivity to light or noise?
I think your FOS on the "Will be out a couple weeks" statement. Your guess is way to premature. Serna's injury is not even 24 hours old. Today he is likely undergoing a battery of cognitive, imagery, and neurological tests to verify his diagnosis and treatment protocol. No one is going to release how much time Serna will miss since concussions are treated day to day.

Yea i don't know who the 4th catcher is but cant afford to get Bide or Yamin hurt with Serna probably out this week.

While all of that is true, players are really good about lying about symptoms, especially in the NFL.
Hell Tua would try and lie after posturing.
So there can still be value in visual evidence of brain trauma.
And yes all concussions are different, so nobody has any idea how he will progress day to day. Time will tell

Kid took a lick…catchers are some tough bastards
Catching a ball knowing contact is incoming

couple of weeks seems long for a concussion.
Due to the position he plays and the chance of taking a pitch or foul tip off the gourd, I would guess the medical staff may advice Jay to keep him from catching for a couple weeks. Now playing first base, that may allow him to come back sooner.

As a former very average to below average amateur boxer this is 100% correct.

I don't feel like anything was done in retaliation for that. Maybe my algorithm has been feeding me Greg Maddux videos talking about high and inside.

No way to know how long it will be, but a couple of weeks would be unusually long. Maybe you heard up to. There is a protocol that requires specific monitoring for certain symptoms, then a couple of days without symptoms to get cleared. That can be a process of anywhere from 3 days to a couple of weeks. If it goes longer, they will be very concerned and check for swelling, bruising on the brain, or a skull fracture, but those should have other or at least stronger symptoms that show up almost immediately.

What? Cade caught at least 2 games last week. I’m sure Yamin will catch a good bit this week, but it won’t be to work Cade back in slowly.

not really considering the position he plays.

Yea the Tennessee base runner looked like he was trying to avoid Serna all he could. I didn’t see anything indicating that the runner was intentionally trying to hit Serna.

If he doesn’t have a concussion, I’d be amazed.

Most concussed football players aren't out that long.
Posted on 4/6/26 at 6:34 pm to Stevo
The fact that he has rocks hurled towards him at 95 mph might be something to consider
Posted on 4/6/26 at 6:42 pm to MorbidTheClown
Whatever the doctor says is fine. Just seems like 2-3 weeks is a long time, that's all.
Posted on 4/6/26 at 6:52 pm to HeadSlash
It looked like it as it happened.

The OP is a well known shite poster. It's certainly possible that Serna has a concussion obviously, but nobody is telling the OP shite.
