Healthy LSU D

We all know the story about our D: has played sloppy some games, has been dominant in others
I believe that our woes came from guys being injured (esp. D-line, Delpit, etc.)
Missing practice and game time messes up the defensive rhythm so to speak
Now that we are healthy, I expect us to play like LSU D's of past; not saying they will be perfect, but this unit is highly underrated
Everyone worried about our D needs to chill, and Georgia should be scared

There is no question about this. I'm not crazy about the Ole Miss game, specifically, and the explosive plays throughout the season, but part of this is the changing nature of college football.
The question you have to ask - would you prefer a smothering defense and eek out games 17 - 13 or get into shootouts 48 - 40? I don't care as long as we win, but there is more room for error if you have the threat to score on any drive, from any starting point in under 2 minutes and score like we have this year.

They are underrated but its because they haven't played to their potential.
They have to play every game like its their last.

Having a healthy Delpit, Fulton and Chaisson available along with the backups who were able to get some experience while those guys were out gives Aranda a completely different defense than what he had in the middle part of the season.

A lot of the D has been playing hurt and they are getting healthy at the right time. Brooks has emerged as a difference maker and should get more PT.
I'm hoping that the A&M game was an opportunity for the D to get its mojo back and they will play better over the final run of the season. The competition is going to obviously be better, but I expect a more confident, consistent defense.

The emergence of Hampton has allowed Delpit and Stevens to roam closer to the LOS and that is a difference maker.

If our D plays at the A&M level we will win a National Championship.
We may still win one even if they fall back into their old ways...but it will be a lot dicier.

Injuries, yes. But I still say complacency was a big factor in the perceived defensive drop-off. They dominated so many first halves and got lazy in the second half due to huge leads.
It seems they heard all the noise regarding getting dropped to no. 2 due to the defense and that lit a fire under their asses. Georgia fricked!

Hampton comes in on against run-heavy formations, and HE is the guy who crashes down on run support. Hampton leaves for passing formations, and Vincent takes over. So I just don’t get the logic above.

A&M and UGA's offensive lines are light years apart so it's not going to be easy but if LSU can limit the big play I think the defense will turn in a great performance.

They kind of remind me of the 2011 D in the sense that they give up points and a lot of offense, but they clamp down when they need to and/or smother teams. LSU vs Oregon and LSU @ W. Virginia in ‘11 are the games that come to mind.
