dre took a pretty nice shot at JJ earlier in the game and JJ got up and laughed at him

It was so flagrant I can't ever remember a player reaching out and grabbing an opposing player from behind, horse collar style, and throwing them to the ground. Never.
either you don't know what a horse collar is or you didn't watch the same game as everyone else.

I must not have watched the same game as you because I saw TM7 save a touchdown by running from acoss the field to push Richardson out of bounds when the rest of the defense had a busted assignment. I saw him down a punt at the 5. I saw him single handedly knock back a TE who had a good 60 pounds on him, and he tied for the most solo tackles. Clearly, he has sucked the last couple of weeks.
exactly!!! If TM7 doesn't cause a turnover that he can return for a TD, some idiots think he sucks. The guy had a solid game.

it's so true. if any team was playing dirty it was bama. i just find it disgusting his own fan base is turning against him and even labeling him a dirty player.. that is absurd. i like how when all the fans were first bashing tyrann they were all claiming he flat out PUNCHED the dude. which is not what happened at all. it was poor decision and poor technique execution, but there was no malicious intent.. i really don't see it from watching the video and watching his reaction.. and even watching him on the sidelines after the play his demeanor was very humble. especially considering during the last ditch act of the hold, he let up and DID NOT throw the guy down.. like others are claiming as well.
people that feel he is dirty or this was a dirty play obviously already had an agenda against him, because if they actually watched with an open mind there is no way they'd be saying this if it was an another player.

I really did not see that much wrong with that play. He did not have position, tried to make a block with his arm in front and happened to just go high on him. Let me ask this, if he comes around and throws the forearm to the chest pad, is it still called holding because he still hooked him.

I also saw Tyrann Mathieu cost his team 35 yards of field position on a drive in regulation that resulted in two first downs that would've easily put us within striking distance of a field goal to win said game in regulation.
Instead, we started that drive on the 5 yard line.
Horrible play. He cost his team THIRTY FIVE YARDS. Inexcusable, & whatever positive plays he made in the game-and he did make several-he was playing frustrated ball in the Secondary in several situations.
Talents & instincts are great, but decision-making-on and off the field-is routinely costing his team, bigtime. We are lucky to have him, but also lucky to be able to overcome his decision-making the last few weeks.

yeah... b/c no one else on this team has ever had a penalty that caused a positive play to be called back.

He is true sophmore. He plays with the heart of a lion and has routinely put up points and created huge turn overs for us. I have never seen anyone play football with energy he does. He is a kid and is going to make a few bad decisions but he is doing a lot more than most kids his age and older. So wake up and get off the anti tm7 bandwagon. He has earned our support and bennefit of the doubt like the rest of this team, coaches included!

exactly. people that try to discredit his overall play as well when this topic is brought up just goes to show they have an agenda against him to begin with. these people are idiots. he had an excellent game. they think because bama caught 2 balls on him he sucks.. some even said he was "burned".. both those catches were on crossing patterns in which the receivers were still infront of him and they proceeded out of bounds. not exactly "burned"
any ways

Heath Evans (NFL Analyst, former Saint/Pats FB, Auburn Grad) agrees.

@HeathEvans “@BrandiLynne16: @Mark_Ingram28 he shoulda been ejected 4 that crap!” Cry me a river! It was holding/clipping at best! Eject him? #whatajoke

For all TM7 knew, Dre could have hit OBJ immediately causing the turnover that won the game for Bama. He tried to make a play, it ended up hurting his team.
Exactly what I was thinking when the play happened. If anybody here thinks Kirkpatrick wasn't going to blow OBJ up, you're fooling yourself. Would it have been dirty for CB to hold on a deep route when his wideout has him beat? Absolutely not. Everybody would have said "smart play, great kid."

TM7 solo tackling 6'6 270 pound Michael Williams in excellent form.

That was as sorry a move as I've seen. DUMB....

You should make as big a fist as you can and punch yourself in the nuts.

Dude, it's football and HB7 is Mike Tyson in cleats. It was an over (maybe "hyper") aggressive play and he was flagged. It happens.
You have to take the good with the bad with any player. A guy playing like Mathieu is going to do that every now and then.

I can't sum it up in two words: "IT'S FOOTBALL!"

Nothing dirty about what Tyrann did.
Posted on 11/7/11 at 10:41 am to SouljaBreauxTellEm
TM7's extreme athleticism takes away a passing lane for McCarron and his pursuit helps lead to a crucial sack.

I said this in a earlier thread Dre was gonna rock Odell and Tyrann was trying to misdirect his path it may have saved a possible turnover.. it ridiculous how people are trying to label him dirty especially our own fan base. Sheppard got hit helmet to helmet as a defenseless receiver but hear no talk about that..
