There is a guy that post here named TIGERLEE that probably wants to give you a massage right about now.
Keep up the good work.

Did I say it's good that Rettig's transferring?

Dupre and Quinn have transferred too Alabama since we will only throw the ball 10 times per game. See Jordan Jefferson.

I personally think he's making a mistake. He was beat out by two QBs who are really yet to prove themselves. So my advice would have been to remain patient and wait for the chips to fall where they may.

My thoughts as well. I don't mean to sound critical. If the O is going in a direction not consistent with his skill set and he's 3rd on the depth chart, then he obviously feels it's in his best interest to seek playing time elsewhere.

OTOH, consider Matt Flynn who was in the same class as JaMarcus. Saw little playing time until his 5th yr. Now, only QB in the NFL with both a BCS and Super Bowl ring. And consider UF in '11, Brantley gets hurt, then Driskel and they started a 3rd teamer against us.

Seriously, some of you come up with any excuse.

From a depth and experience standpoint, not good.

That was seven years ago. CFB has changed considerably since then. QBs transferring because of PT is just apart of the process now.

Yep. An injury and a bad game away from playing time. Something tells me from the spring game there's more to this however.

I don't think this is defensible. There is no affirmative action going-on on the football field. Les and Cam have nothing to gain by not playing the players they feel give us the best chance to win. Rettig had his chance.

That said, all our QBs are young. I expect growing pains on Saturdays this year.

I can understand the angst of Tiger fans – just not that far removed from those dark years of O. But I have no reason to think they’ll be repeated. Cam is (supposedly) as good as they come.

Thread did not disappoint. So far, it has bashed Rettig, Jennings, Mettenberger, Gunner Kiel, Cam Cameron, and Les Miles, not counting the JJ/JL references -- oh, and we insulted each other a lot.

To make this the perfect thread, all we need is to cconnect this news to Saban, Alleva, Perrilloux, Studrawa, ticket prices, ads on the scoreboard, songs that the band isn't allowed to play, fans leaving games early, parking, traffic, and concession prices. Bonus points if you can work in an insult to Jamie Howard or Andrew Hatch.

Certain "folk" like Tigerlee don't want Rettig here.

Rettig's fundamentals are quite inconsistent. His footwork, in particular, can be painful to watch. His feet get choppy and his throws sail off target. In HS this is less of a big deal because you are often throwing to wide open players and placing a throw at a particular spot isn't terribly important. But it is important for him to understand that his accuracy starts with his base. When he loses it, things get ugly. When he has it, he can make some sensational throws, like at the 6:54 mark. That's a damn good drop for a HS QB, and once he hits his back foot the ball comes out. That's as good as you can ask for. Applicable side note: Matt Barkley has sensational footwork.
