Hawthorne: Weekly TV Show

Hawthorne is FINALLY wearing an official LSU shirt, for the weekly coach's show!
He dressed like a HICK for all these years! I guess LSU GAVE him the shirt?
Then he wears this obscene ring, and never fails to put his hand, to his face, as if to show he has a ring?
I read below, he should not be broadcasting games anymore, for his gaffes?
Like so many functional retirees at LSU, they keep doing it because our administration allows it.
Like Hawthorne, we have retirees running programs, and as time goes they are less and less competitive. Instead of hiring competing, younger and motivated individuals, we keep running a RETIREE PETTING ZOO.
Hawthorne is not the SHOWCASE CASE, but he can be pathetic at time.
I am glad he finally fixed his grill, as well. that was embarassing too.
With thousands of young prepping assistants, totally fixated on THEIR appearance, almost to the exclusions of doing their job, you would THINK they would put a premium on APPEARANCES, in representing LSU!!
Hawthorne has done a good job on one hand, with his voice and ability to emote special moments, his appearance and increasing brain reversals, have become a pronounced embarassment.

I agree LSU needs to move younger and give Jim a big thing and going out ceremony,
but this argument is getting old, because as you said administration is going to do nothing about this, he'll die or retire at 85

Most of us fans just look at the stage, and feel impotent to comment or make suggestions.
That is the beauty of cyber forums.
Sometimes, the vast majority has no idea about MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
We all love LSU, those in the forums that do, and that is the focus.
Not only is LSU having management problems in the individual sports, the management problems are real too.

One thing I've been noticing about Hawthorne lately is that he's so damn argumentative with whomever he's on the air. There was a basketball game that I thought Kevin Ford was about to tear off the headphones and slam them on the table and walk off. And that part is getting worse every year.

I'm a fan of Hawthorne, but I haven't listened to him lately. Is he really doing that horrible, or could some of y'all be exaggerating a little?

That album happens to be my all-time favorite country and western themed album.
Except for Waylon Jennings' greatest hits.
Ditto for Garth Brooks' greatest hits.
And Alan Jackson's greatest hits.
I liked Hank Williams albums better, too.
And Willie Nelson's albums.
Come to think of it, Jim Hawthorne's album sucks......

We also have the "LSU Payroll" which is filled with guys like Ford, Bowser, Lowe, etc. and it's basically tenure at LSU sports broadcast events.

Great thread OOgah. I mean I amp ersonally shocked that Hawthorne doesn' wear neon purple socks. He needs to wear gold lame'pants like you have too. Maybe he should borrow your lavendar ballet slippers. I hear that you are really a head turner when you wear them. Hawthorne is a radio personality, but that shouldn't mean that he can dress up, right? You do, right? And everybody just luuuuuuves the way you dress.
