I watched a video about this small group of Vietnamese that somehow ended up in the MS delta a long arse time ago. They interviewed two of the older ladies and they sounded redneck.

There were a few hundred Chinese immigrants to the Mississippi Delta around 1900 who settled there in towns & cities and mostly were small-scale merchants. (Small grocery stores)
I’ve met some of their descendants, third & fourth generation people, 100% Chinese DNA but they talk with a thick Delta accent.
It’s trippy in real life to try to resolve what your eyes see and what your ears hear.
