July 5th to Labor Day is nothing but long hot days and two months with no holiday. It’s the price we pay for the glory of October.

Just checked the NWS forecast. 10 days of 100 plus are in store for the Shreveport area. Bookended by several 99’s. It’s gonna be our hottest and driest stretch of the year. I sure wish my sons school had an indoor practice facility. Football practice is going to be 6:30-8:30 because of the heat rules.
Funny how times change, I played a little football in the 80’s. Seems like we practiced every afternoon during the summer and directly after school everyday. Hell, in Jr High we didn’t have a water cooler. When the coaches said water break, we raced to a faucet that stuck out of the side of the building.
Pushed and shoved and fought our way to gulp as much as we could then went back to the field.
Of course, the school didn’t have A/C. So our bodies were acclimated differently than kids today.
And school didn’t start until September. Crazy that they start August 11th now.

At least February has the Superbowl even if it's just one game. March is a whole lot of nothing, a transition period. Spring is nice, and I've come to enjoy college baseball. Sports wise, July is desolate.

August is such a tease.

My least favorite month of the year if I'm being honest.

Rantards have spent the past 8 months reading nothing but LSU hype stories and posts. They will be completely shocked when LSU doesn't go undefeated.

I always joke about this time of year. I have a sickness but I’ve heard about 10 sec reporter practice reports after week 1 and every single one is nothing but how amazing the returning players look and how they’re bigger and faster and this could be the best freshman class ever

It’s 100% Kool-Aid from all of them. I’ve yet to hear anyone say “_____ looks like shite and unimpressive”

Every single year. Everyone is undefeated and this could be the year

July is the absolute worst for me.

June the temps are manageable and the fishing is still good.

August at least you can get excited and start prepping for football, doves, gator season.

July 5th to August 4-6 or so is absolute misery.

Let’s not act like September isn’t just as hot as August. It doesn’t cool down until Halloween

Yeah but at least there is something to watch on TV and some side quest outdoor activities I can suffer through until Bow season starts.

The only thing July is good for is growing okra and daydreaming about that first crispy morning.
