The BCS top 4 would have been exactly the same as the playoff committees top four ever season so far.

So what's your complaint?

they are terrified to play Bama again. It is pretty obvious.

frick dem. Put them in front of us and we play em. I don’t care. I know this. Bama would beat the he’ll outta everyone that could possibly be put in between their fifth and the eight the OP thinks they deserved

What’s better than besting em once. Beating their arse twice

That’s fine but it would also add let’s say Baylor and Minnesota to the mix if they stayed deserving plus it would also add 2 teams from strong conferences.

BCS was fine. Just needed to add 2 teams to the mix

It penalized some conference champions which was retarded. I'm sure they could've worked that out in the algorithm though.

I would prefer the BCS computer to determine the final 4 teams...even so I still think bama would be in the hunt. It should be about the best 4 making the playoffs.

What computer algorithm would make Bama the best one loss team?

Its almost gotten to a point where Id rather rely on a system of algorithms to figure out the 4 deserving teams

Almost? That is 100% by far the best solution.

If Oregon wins the Pac 12 and bama throttles Auburn why would Oregon be better?
Why is 1 loss OU currently ahead of undefeated Baylor?

Remember, Baylor beat the hell out of Kansas state who beat Ou

You are putting too much stock in "common opponents"

A 12-1 conf champ is not getting left behind over an 11-1 team sitting at home. Especially one with a bad resume

They need to tweak the BCS.

Should include:
20% - Playoff committee pick a top 25
80% - 20+ computer models that look at advanced stats, efficiency ratings, etc.

AP and Coaches polls are absolute dogshit. I can't believe those were used in those polls.

well someone showed earlier that the bcs would have them 4th and not 5th right now. Who is the best 1 loss team in your opinion? Bama lost to us, I think we are the best team in the country, that has to help bama

Because they're #4 in AP and Coaches. The BCS weights that heavily.

They need to make it a combination of computers and playoff committee IMO, weighted heavily towards computers.

Then so be it.

I'm ok with that. Computers will like them less after they play Western Carolina and Mississippi State.

ETA:

BTW, I'll never understand Sagarin.

LINK

He has OSU #1 and LSU #2, despite LSU having a harder schedule (on his sheet) and more ranked wins (on his sheet).

Baylor has not been impressive in several recent games

first of all how good are Oregon and Utahs resumes...bamas one loss would be against the #1 team in the country. Oregon and Utah would have losses against teams with 4-5 losses

And Ou has? They just escaped a 1 point win

Oregon or Utah would have 1 additional win, which would skyrocket their SOS compared to bama. They would also have twice as many wins over teams with a winning record compared to Bama

Also, they would have a top 10 win

Its so strange you focus on one metric and one metric only: your loss. You do it constantly

My point is, what is attractive to them algorithm-wise? I'm not arguing they shouldn't be no. 4. (nor am I arguing they should).

It was a very specific question because I didn't see how their current record/schedule would be attractive from an algorithm standpoint, unless it's weighted significantly to "quality losses."

wtf?

we are having a simple debate and you gotta be a punk arse bitch? wtf is wrong with you

Bama is better than both Oregon and Utah in my opinion...and many others would share the same opinion.

As for OU and Baylor who cares? neither of them would get in over bama unless baylor went undefeated

Hasn't bama made the playoff with one less game?

Yes you are correct. Thing is I dont like a select few picking. And why is an AD in charge of it all?

Ohio state was 11-2, bama was 11-1

Bama had the better record

Incorrect. Oklahoma still has better odds to make the playoff than bama in Vegas

Oklahoma at +200, Bama at +250

It isnt difficult, a 12-1 p5 team isnt getting passed by a non conf champ

I know that polls count in the BCS formula. Question is what team, other than really Georgia, would you say deserves to be above bama? Oregon, Utah, OU, PSU all have worse losses and really not much as far as any impressive wins.
