Absolutely not.

We will need turnovers and a score a hell of a lot of points.

LSU’s two toughest games were on the road, and they should have won both! Ala’s toughest games were all at home. And they struggled both offensively and defensively at times during those games.

Football is funny, and this could be one of those weird 24-21 type games.

The reality is, for LSU to win, they will likely have to put up 45+ and even then, that might be enough.

FSU put up 45
Ole Miss put up 55
Missouri put up 39
Arkansas put up 31

That's 42.5/points per game

LSU put up
24 Versus FSU
34 Versus Arkansas
49 Versus Ole Miss
49 Versus Missouri

That's 39/points per game

Bama is likely the best team we have played outside of FSU. We are playing at their house, and they are coming off a bye. They also control there own destiny, and this is a must win for them.

Bama beat Ole Miss 24-10 (compared to our 49-55 loss) and Beat Arkansas 24-21 (compared to our 34-21 win).

Bama is going to hand 42-45 on us. We need to be able to put up 45+.

I think the D has a great game next Saturday after this week off. Pete gets some extra time with the DL which will be a continued improvement, I expect. With that improvement and the current state of the Bama OL, I can see pressure coming rushing only 3 or 4 guys. Disguising the pressures will be the key to the guys getting home and will be the difference in the game, IMO

Don’t believe he’s able to, it will be sometime “down the road’ according to Kelly.

The marginal improvement in the defense since Ole Miss is encouraging (I mean, Ole Miss had a great offense, but a lot of the defensive improvement was against an very outmatched Army team).

I've been very negative (not irrationally, IMHO) about the defense this season and really into last season. I'm hopeful things all start clicking in Tuscaloosa. I don't expect dominance because we just don't have that sort of personnel. Competent defense that limits big plays, is stingy on 3rd down, wins a few possessions outright, nabs a turnover or 2 is literally all we need.

After all, this is the second best offense in LSU history. And with a great offense, you're almost never out of it.

Everyone forget how pitiful Damone Clark was for first 5-6 games.

Blake baker was coaching him and he is a great coach (would love for us to go after him for DC). House has proven time and time again to be downright awful.

Guy was getting stood up by army last week he is practically useless. I’d rather give someone else a chance to step up at this point.

Speights is finally healthy.

He is not good and the only time he makes plays is 10 yards down field.

Why should we take your word on having faith in LSU's defense when you thought our starting LB was a coach?

Exactly, time to move on from trashing this LSU defense. You know Jenkins will be working with House for these next two weeks to come up with a plan to go after Alabama’s weak link, it’s Oline.

Go look at Bamas offense in big games this year. They are Iowa level bad

I’m 96% confident we blow them out

On third and 7 early in the fourth quarter

Alabama 3rd down % is 43%
LSU 3rd down D is giving up 42%

Key to the game will be LSU D finding 2-3 more 3rd down stops above the avg. do so and LSU offense keeps doing there thing, Alabama won’t keep up.

Alabana w/ Milroe is built to grind it out with him only completing 10-12 passes (only 15+ completions in 2 games). You force them to keep up by passing and it’s game over.

Voicing concerns about the defense doesn’t equal trashing them.

They aren't wrong about their offense vs our defense. Each side will have big plays and each side will give up big plays.

My only concern is I don't think we've seen a Defense as good as Bama's. Can we maintain the level of explosiveness we've shown most of the year? If we do, I feel like our D will only need a 2-3 stops.

This is quite the logical leap.

You give two examples of how Alabama scored LESS than LSU did against common opponents, then state that MORE than they have in those games by a factor of 2.

Or we rush 3 and Milroe will just stand in the pocket all day long with Burton getting 10 yards behind who we play at DB for several TDs. Sad part is the odds are that will happen and it is what everybody expects.
Guess somebody needs to tell JD to bring on 7+ TDs for the win.

Voicing concerns about your wives cooking to others is one thing, telling them that her cooking “is shitty” is another.
