What's that got to do with anything? Saban quit on the job, while still on the payroll at LSU to consider and take the Miami (Dolphins) offer. Then he did the same thing to Miami when things weren't working out so hot at the Dolphins and the Bama vacancy came open.

Did Shula do anything approaching that?

Miles pretty much did the same thing at Oklahoma State. Seems like I remember a lot of OSU fans accusing him of quitting on the job too. Frank Wilson just did the same thing. It is part of the coaching business.

I don't know of anyone in any profession that quits a current job because they are interviewing for another job.

Hester would never have been a household name under Saban. I think that Hester would not have been a 1000 yard running back under Saban that he was under Miles because Saban/Fisher probably would not have used him the same way.

Miles/Crowton made Hester a hero (see UF v. LSU, 2007).

That is not a slam on Saban or praise for Miles, just an opinion that Hester's role would have been different under a different coach. Saban recruited him, Miles gave him the chance to prove himself.

That is bullshite, he was running the ball as a freshman under saban.....what a dumbass comment.

THis is a stupid thread.

Newsflash people:

The guys who were at the end of there time under Saban, were Sabans "boys" and hung around after he left - most likely hate Miles. Its just the way it is. Its not because Miles sucks...its because he is not Saban. Same reason you hate the new teacher at school who replaces your old one. Same reason most kids hate their step dad even if he is a good guy.

The guys who didn't get to play as much as they wanted - most likely hate Miles because they think they didn't get a chance.

The guys who got kicked off the team - most likely think they were dealt with harshly and hate Miles.

The guys who never played for him and have watched the last two years - probably hate Miles because they think they know better.

AND...

The guys that sweat and bled for the 2007 team that won the championship -PROBABLY LOVE THE GUY LIKE A DAD.

This isn't even remoteley surprising and has zero bearing on who the guy is or how well he coaches.

In addition, Saban replaced Don Shula's son at Alabama.

Not a very objective opinion.

Mr Dinardo, if he is living, would proably agree with Don's opinion.

Srsly though. Poor J Marc. Piss poor coaching has turned him into a joke

WTF? Dude, he doesn't go to meetings and doesn't work on his game. He turned himself into himself! He is a lazy fat bastard who just wanted a check! I don't think I've even heard him complain about his benching. HE DOESN"T CARE! I'll check with some friends, but him being this quiet is exactly what makes him NOT a person capable of leading an NFL squad.

Don Shula STILL HAS A LOW OPINION OF SABAN. SO, using the logic of this thread, Saban must suck.

If this is not a correct inference to draw, than it is also not correct to say that because some anonymous poster has an anonymous friend who reportedly "played" for Miles (although he was admittedly recruited by Saban) and has a "low, low " opinion of him, that Les Miles sucks.

I don't know this person and could care less about his opinion. I'll make up my own mind.

Let me help this hayseed out. His title should have read:

Have any old farts who used to play for LSU but are now just angry old men because they can't run the 40 in under 6 seconds made negative comments about Miles like every other unsatisfied LSU fan?

How about frick you. I went to high school and worked with this guy, I've known him for about 12 years. I would see him occasionally around BR when he would be in town. Trust me, when I said he has a low opinion that is an understatement. I can't say that he speaks for all former Miles players, but I know he was a Saban recruit. That could have something to do with it. But seriously, go jump off a bridge.
