The play on the goal line where he ran over the photographer and stopped to help him up was awesome

I'm glad you called that out. I noticed it too!

Also saw a Bama WR run over their own cheerleader and didn't even look in her direction as he ran past her back to the field

You don't phone it in by making blocks for teammates and making clutch catches against Bama knowing you're going to get clobbered when you do. People forget how much he did last year before breaking his dmn ankle, while still making that catch at that.

Dude has matured and should be one of the first few WR's taken if he leaves next year. He is finally getting his strength and game speed back.

At least he didn't completely opt out like a lot of players did under Ed.

Some of those same players are basically opting out at their new schools too…”it’s almost over”

I’m glad to see Boutte willing to contribute to the team. While he hasn’t had the season we had hoped, he made some clutch catches in the Bama game.

At least he didn’t completely opt out like a lot of players did under Ed.

BK deserves a ton of credit for handling Boutte well. It really caught my attention at a press conference early in the season when BK defended Boutte from media questions about his attitude, lack of effort, etc.

Really good coaching by BK to understand what it took to reach Boutte and help him mature and contribute to the team. A lot of coaches would have had too much ego or too little patience for that.

His play has come around just in time for a run

He simply needs to be patient and continue to give 100%, no matter what he's doing (running routes, catching, blocking). His time will come.

Gotta disagree. It's clear to me (and to pro scouts I bet) that he is phoning it in.

Not saying he is a bad guy - just saying his heart is not in it right now.

I see the opposite. Now, his hands have not been 1st-round worthy this year, but his moves after the catch have been great. And he has been blocking well and being a great teammate as well.

He doesn't have enough tape to do that.

Yes he does.

Highly doubt he comes back. For as much as JD has improved and learned to trust his WR's, their production is still very low. If JD comes back, I'm not sure if he'll sling it any more than he currently does. If JD leaves and we have Walker Howard, I still doubt Boutte wants to come back and go through the growing pains of WH getting experience in the SEC.

However, on the bright side, I'm amazed at how well this staff has helped JD learn the plays and system in such a short time. If WH is as good as some say, we may not have much drop-off in our QB transition. This staff gives us a lot to be excited for.

Off subject, I'd love to see our RB's have a dominant performance against Arky. They have gone under the radar and are due a BIG game. They deserve it and it would be nice for them to have an absolutely amazing game against another team that is more known for running. Imagine if JD and our RB's amassed a crazy amount of yards on the ground and our D held Arky to a season low.

Everything about him changed when he became a father.

...for the good. I think the bad set in on those shitty teams and he was the go to guy and was getting a lot of praise for that. Now he is a part of a bigger machine that uses a lot of people/targets and it took some getting used to. Those 12 catch for 185 nights are likely gone for all on the team - not just him. Now it is about making significant plays in crunch time.

He didn’t have any highlight reels, but the dude made some Clutch 3rd down catches to move the chains.

Almost all of them in the middle, tightly covered, and punishing.

If the rumors about him considering a transfer were in fact hysteria in the wake of the Ricks move, the dude deserves all the love because that’s f*cked. He’s playing with heart out there.

Where do you think he was on the draft board at the start of the season as compared to now?

I'm happy for him that he is helping the team and beginning to make significant plays.

Probably took a minute to realize that special treatment for players was not happening under CBK. But give him a lot of credit playing & practicing thru his dilemma and becoming a team leader again per CBK.

Also give CBK a lot of props because he showered Boutte with a lot of praise over the past multiple weeks!

Appears to have turned out as a win...win...

Am I crazy to think theres a chance he comes back next year? He'll be fully healthy all offseason and have a chance to get his stats back to WR1 draft status.
