Cecil Collins also broke his fibula in his last carry as a Tiger which kept him out the whole 2nd half of the season. When it happened, he was in obvious pain. This must have been some sort of stress fracture.

Not quite sure why you think this now??

You don't think Jefferson can come in and run a pseudo-option 2 or 3 times a game and never pitch the ball?

All sarcasm aside, this is a hit to the offense, but it doesn't spell the end of the season by any means.

Hey Dew, I guess we'll be getting to see some of George, I mean, Jordan Jefferson after all. This may not be that bad, actually. Depending on how much PT Jefferson gets, we may actually have a real QB competition in the spring.

I hope he brings out his "inner wolf" like that dude at Outback and goes off on the Greenies. This should make things very interesting in two weeks. How many times will Lil' Nicky blitz TWO freshman QBs?

Actually, a fracture and break are the same thing.

You have to feel bad for Hatch he's been nothing but cool about splitting time and accepting his role even though he's not fit for the role he's playing.

good luck with that. I had a stress fracture that took 9 weeks to heal.

found this:

quote:

Tibial stress fractures are definitely not fun. They can stop training in its tracks, they are painful, and, while it is often said that they require two to three months to heal, the reality is that up to six months may be needed to restore the bone to normalcy and remove most traces of pain, and some athletes may require a year or more for full recovery.

Fracture = break

And, the fibula is a non-weight-bearing bone. I broke mine, and I walked around on it for a week - painful and swollen, but I thought it was minor injury, like a pulled muscle. X-ray came back positive, crutches and end of season.

The guy did not even limp on Saturday, strange.
That series he led with KW in the second half was nice. Hate to lose the guy.

He broke it on his first play of the UGA game, the face mask play. It is a non-displaced fracture of the left fibula.

Hatch is like a cheap Christmas toy--always broken.

Didn't he get injured playing flag football against a third-world team?
