Please try and remember the circumstances that led to Hatch being the starting QB. If he struggles this season then so be it. The dude walked on from Harvard - dont blame him.

The choice was either keeping RP and all his distractions that could have caused long term damage to the team or maintain discipline within the team even if it results in a few extra losses this season.

Miles made the right decision to boot RP and this is what the QB situation is all about. Try to remember that before bashing our qbs this season.

And you never know - Hatch, or Lee, may surprise us this season. Just wait and see. And remember too that NONE of LSU's qb's this decade have gone into Auburn and won.

Les Miles: Paid almost $4 million a year to make that decision. Has demonstrated his expertise in this area by winning a national championship, an SEC championship, two SEC West championships, 35 out of 41 games, winning two BCS bowls and finishing in the top 5 in the country every year he's been here.

cooncorner: Blowhard on a message board not getting paid one dime to make that decision. Has never done one damned thing on a college football field.

Who should we trust?

Hatch woul start at Ole miss or MSU.

Not so sure about that ... Snead looked pretty good against Wake Forest. Wouldn't mind having him on the team to compete for the job.

It's way too early to tell meat head. His dicision making is pretty good and that, my friend, is more important than a strong arm.

And also remember, Les made his decision after seeing the scrimage and the coaching staff felt that we would be ok WITHOUT RP this season. If our QB's would have been bad, they would have let RP stay until we didn't need him. They know the odds and we'll be ok. I'm with Les and staff on this. We'll be ok.

Just as a note....IMHO Hatch had eyes in the back of his head in the opener. He looked really comfortable in the pocket, moved well, and for the most part made good decisions. While he may limit our deep passing game, he won't be the one making critical mistakes and losing the game.

That doesn't mean that you aren't an idiot. I don't know either of you, but hancheye is definitely coming across as the intellectual superior, IMO.

Disagree with this one. RP had his chances and Miles finally had to cut him loose. I don't think this decision had anything to do with the talent level of the QBs on the team at the time.

You do know that you don't have to support Hatch just because he plays for LSU, right?

The fact is that everything I said about Hatch was the truth, which is evident from the bulk of your "witty" response.

When someone's counterargument is something along the lines of "You're a failure." and "You don't know what you're talking about.", it usually means that person is on the losing side of the debate.

You don't have to reply if you don't want to.

I've said enough.

Longhorn22 -- I'd be willing to bet the Shepard NEVER plays QB at LSU.

My bet is that whomever ultimately wins the starting QB job this season is the starter next year for the entire year.

Guys, calm down. This ain't a qb driven league like the NFL. LSU has a great defense, and great running game and fast receivers. This will open up the passing game. Last I checked we didnt win a national chmapionship with great QB play. We had best qb in country in 06-07 in Russell and didnt with a crown.

We need a "caretaker" QB and we will be fine. Will we beat Auburn and Florida on the road, maybe maybe not but didnt do it with comparable team and nations best QB either in o6.

Our games this year will be won in the trenches. First probably only team to twenty will win both Auburn and Florida games

Well, as fans, it would be nice if we did, especially when he hasn't done anything to indicate we shouldn't. Of course, you're free to trash him without reason or justification if you want, but if you expect to be able to do so without hostile responses from LSU fans, you're dreaming.

You just gratuitously flamed the board, bashing a player that you have absolutely no cause for bashing. You got the responses that you deserved. You got the truth. You ARE a failure and a loser.

I've said enough

It's not the amount you said that was in question. Any amount of bullshite is still just bullshite.

3rd String SEC QB???
Stat lines from SEC QB's in week 1:

S CAR-12/22 106yds 4 INT
UA- 9/18 70ys 1 TD 1 INT
MISS ST- 11/25 158 1 TD 4 INT
UK 16/31 147 0 TD
TENN 19/41 189 0TD 1 INT

I say Hatch could probably start at half of schools in SEC
