Tiger fan all my life and an alum. I'm old school and all about tradition, but our uniforms, especially the helmets, need some freshening. The font on the helmet is ancient and the tiger head is unrecognizable. I'd change to the geaux font with the tiger eye underneath. As for the rest of the uni, the shades of purple on the jersey and helmet don't match. Just looks very sloppy to me.

I wish we'd use this across all sports..
I agree, that the interlocking LSU would be a great default logo, there are several versions to consider.
Here is the same logo in the geaux font:
And if we want to continue using a Tiger logo, why not use a variation of the TAF logo?

Anyone who wants to change the LSU helmet should be banned from LSU football games. Period.

The head still looks like a Liger, not a Tiger. Whoever @ LSU that signed off on that had to have been on a 72 hour binge.

This is my old ring with the classic Tiger head.

someone create a helmet with the eye on it. all three colors (gold not canary yellow). i think lsu's midfield logo is the best in college fb.

IDK why LSU decided to change it. All of our fans and brand look awful with Toonces. It was one of the dumbest ideas to change our logo. Why is everybody obsessed with making some new logo - which in turn ends terribly and is sported by jabroni's.

I TRULY believe that the person that created toonces with the hurricane behind it should lose their job if they haven't already. This is not a figure of speech...I really feel they should be fired if they have not been already.
that was a colossal, multi-million dollar frickup and embarassment to LSU.

Wasnt Saban one of the big backers of Toonces? I seem to remember him wanting to appeal more nationally and put the idea into action and helped descide on toonces? Does anyone else remember this?

He was supportive of the plan of a unified brand with LSU and athletics. LSU marketing then hired a guy for millions of dollars (who didn't go to LSU BTW), to draw toonces. The worst mistake LSU has ever made in my eyes.
So now you have bandwagon fans from the past successful years who only know toonces and think it's "badass" and a winner. LSU wont accept the mistake and will grind out toonces as long as it takes. They boast toonces because of the huge merchandise sales but thats convenient since when it came out LSU was chasing championships in every sport for the first time in school history.
I have talked to people that sell merchandise, and a large majority of fans despise the logo and will pay anything for the old logo. Tiger Mania is starting to carry more clothing with the older symbols because they said it flies off the shelves.
LSU's entire marketing department is filled with ronnies who think their terrible ideas are "badass"

Not that this is a fantastic logo, but even this would be a huge step up over Toonces.

I respect that logo.

Any of these logos should be used accordingly:
Personal favorite. Should be used as LSU's symbol for all media purposes. . .
I can settle on the geaux font, but if LSU makes the fans swallow a design GEAUX might work but the old block letters were legit. . .

Leave the helmets alone!!! All they need to do is use current graphics technology on the classic tiger and it would look awesome.

One of the last pieces of the argument for toonces and LSU.
LSU says merchandisers said sewing the logo became too difficult. That is a lie. During the last 15 years, planet earth's sewing technology has digressed ? Fail LSU marketing.
I wonder what it will take for LSU to at least admit the brand is disliked by a large majority.
