Second only to Bama in the SEC. I think we are a pitiful 9-20 or something against them.

Florida and Georgia games have already been covered.

Tennessee-- I don't remember blowing them out, as in 2 or more touchdowns / clear dominance. The closest was 2005 when we jumped all over them, but then petered out.

Sad when all we got is one game in 20 years and they have like 4 or 5 in the last 15 years. Come on Les!

1971 LSU 48/Florida 7

1996 Florida pelted us pretty hard in Gainesville by a score of 56-13

2001 under Saban they pounded us 44-15 in Tiger stadium but the following year we beat them 36-7 over there.

Yeah, kinda like Ben Wilkerson blowing out his knee on the last play of the Vandy game when he never should have been in at the end of a blowout. Saban cost that man a bunch of money and a really good career with that lame NFL stupidity.

We were kicking the shite out of Tennessee in 2005....

and then it happenned. The most devastating loss in LSU football history. Of course, that was replaced three years later against Arkansas when our national title hopes were seemingly dashed.

OT question: do you like living in Jacksonville? I've thought about moving there but only been there once (going again in a few weeks) but other's have said it is the "armpit of the south"....I just didn't get that impression.

Mauck getting hurt was Saban's fault, running QB draws up by so much is just stupid late in the 4th (shouldn't have even been playing)

He could have run up the gut and got the RB's ankle gotten hurt instead. Or maybe we should not have put the center out there. Don't want him getting hurt.

Thanks! It's dudette.....but yes, I'm sure the Florida fans would be intolerable. I don't think I could stay that far away from Tiger Stadium in the long run. When we stayed it was near the Beach...few miles from Beach Blvd, and loved it!

In 2002, the bar straight across from the stadium "The Swamp" ran out of keg beer.

After that weekend the bar sold more keg weekend that weekend alone than every other home uf football game combined.

I don't necessarily agree with this logic. How do you know he wouldn't have blown out his knee the first play of the next game - or in practice the next week? Certainly not all, but many injuries build over time and are just bound to happen.

Hey Cali,
Not a bad place to live the beaches are close but my wife and i always take the kids to St. Augustine beaches because there better than jacksonville's. Jobs are a little tough right now do to jax being home to alot or corporate banks and mortgage companies but jobs are here. If your planning on renting or buying you pretty much can pick anywhere where in the city to live. There are some bad parts of town but jacksonvilles so big you never even have to go thru those parts. I miss Louisiana but opportunity here is greator here if your a young person trying to succeed but Gator Fans are everywhere

the same can be said for SEC west opponents really. Consider:

-we dont really blow out bama ever (sans 2003)
-Obviously we maul Miss St. everyyear (sans last year, but do they even count? haha Oh wait more SECCG game appearances than Ole Delisuional)
-Ole miss ALWAYS plays us close.
-Arkansas we beat 55-24 in 2003 but usually that game is a nailbbiter
-aside from the 2003 auburn beatdown 31-7, that game is always close.

bottom line, unless you are Florida in 08 or LSU in 03, Or Tenneesee in 98, you dont blow out SEC Teams (we even struggle with Kentucky wtf)

edit: georgia did take us to the woodshed in 04, 45-14 iirc? and once in the SECCG Props to them

I see the guys point when it comes to Florida. They seem to beat the crap out of us when they beat us and with the exception of 2002, when we win, we seem to barely squeak by. It is what it is. But a W is a W.

Last 20 years.

1988 L 6-19
1989 L 13-16
1990 L 8-34
1991 L 0-16
1992 L 21-28
1993 L 3-58
1994 L 18-42
1995 L 10-28
1996 L 13-56
1997 W 28-21
1998 L 10-22
1999 L 10-31
2000 L 9-41
2001 L 15-44
2002 W 36-7
2003 L 7-19
2004 W 24-21
2005 W 21-17
2006 L 10-23
2007 W 28-24
2008 L 21-51

I guess that is 21 years. And we all know the history. But it seems to repeat itself even though the players change every few years as do the coaches.

Florida started to dominate us in 88, and we have gotten out of that the last few seasons. But the big losses seem to be a trend still. Over that span we are 5-16. When we win, our avg score is 27-18, but except for 2002, it is less than a TD. When we lose, the avg. score is 31-11. A blowout is the norm, not the exception.

It is bad enough when we lose to Florida. But when we lose, it is usually ugly.
