Not saying a first round pick, or a guy that logs 200 carries in a season, or anything like that. But has he worked his way into an NFL back?

Runs hard, good vision, seems to have some good athleticism and burst, threat out of the backfield, and maybe most importantly a good blocker.

Who would have ever thought it?

He’s a guy I take a chance with on a late round pick and if not that most certainly undrafted FA. If he has decent numbers then he could go 5-7 rounds, no doubt. You can’t measure heart and he has plenty of it. He’s be valuable on ST and give you effort on every snap. NFL coaches love those guys.

He’ll get a “cup of coffee” at minimum

I would draft him in the later rounds. Dude does everything well and is getting better and better. Tough as nails too. He averaged 7+ ypc against Bama last night. How many RBs have we had that have ever done that? He didn't have a ton of carries, but he was great on the carries he had and with his blocking.

I think he could have even two years left due to the extra COVID year.

I don't know about all that, but that kid is 100% effort. If effort alone could take one to the mountaintop, he would be there.

That block he made on the last touchdown, alone, which does nothing for his stat sheet was a thing of beauty.

I mean, look at this thing:

That is as impressive as several of his very, very impressive, 100% effort runs for hard yardage.

What a crazy season. We had a "terrible QB" and a "walk-on" RB starting at the beginning of the season to a possible Heisman candidate and a pro prospect at RB. My how things have changed! Williams needs to come back IMO

If I were a GM, I would absolutely look at him with a late pick or as an UDFA. He’s a perfect 3rd down back. He blocks well (as we saw last night), runs hard, especially in short yardage, and catches it well. We’ve seen how hard he works and plays. I would bet he would be a good special teams guy, as well. Teams need versatile role players with limited roster sizes, and he seems like a guy who can hold down a spot in the right situation because of that.

I would agree with this. At this point I’m not convinced he gets drafted, but I think someone takes a flyer on him as UDFA.

At that point it all comes down to how he does in camp. The kid seems to have a great work ethic, do things the right way, etc. from everything we’ve heard about him.

Even if he doesn’t make an active roster (and I do think he has a chance at making the cut as a special teams guy and backup RB) he’ll have a career as at least a practice squad guy. Which is still pretty impressive for a walk on IMO.

He is incredible. A great example of how stupid recruiting rankings can sometimes be. Not saying he should have been a 5 or 4 star, but he’s clearly talented enough to not have been a walk on.
