i'm not talking about running a few 3 or 4 wr sets but actually coached a spread offense.

it might actually be a disaster if he changed to that now. just warning the xbox set that want us to swithch our "scheme" regardless of the risk.

People will always feel like running a TCU/Baylor offense will make us the best team in the nation

I have no oppostion to running a spread but I think our offense with the right QB is hard to game plan against after every other team you play runs a spread.

The spread isn't the end all be all and quite frankly a lot of them benefit from playing horrible defenses.

A guy who is paid 1.5 million a year cant figure out how to run a simple spread college offense?

Then fire him.

And Texas Tech had an incredible offense in the same conference but struggled against a defense coached by KEVIN STEELE

wasn't a spread. had spread elements in some of the formations, but a lot of option outta 22 personnel as well.

if we could get back to something like what we did under Crowton (but with less plays/ more efficiency than his last few yrs) where we married spread with more traditional pro style looks, I think that'd serve us best.

We won't be running a full spread offense as long as Cam and Miles are here, but perhaps we can get more than two guys running routes on passing downs.

The spread works very well for some schools that normally lack size or Oline depth, which we don't.

Our offense would look great with a few minor tweaks and better execution from QB and WRs

Well they're also Baylor and traditionally a terrible football program yet much better than LSU lately thanks to its offense. Spread offenses have been the only ones to succeed against Bama lately too.

I liked LSU's 2007 offense. Seemed like a nice blend of power and spread.

I wouldn't want a full on spread offense. Three things I pray for night and day.

A little creativity in play calling.
Some coaching up of a QB
And get the plays called and into the huddle in a timely manner.

I guess consistent great execution would be just an added bonus.

Yes, a multiple offense with a mixture of pro style, pistol, and spread formations would be optimal with our talent. We appear to be transitioning to that this year though it hasn't been fully implemented.

The offense doesn't have to be a Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech type spread. It just need some diversity. Sprinkle in a tad of imagination (like Bama does) and keep the power running game and that's your ingredients for a championship run.

didn't Miles say he and Cam were studying spread offenses shortly after the bowl game? I think they are trying to learn more about it but I'm sure Cam could manage a Bama or even Clemson style pro style spread. Or call it a pro style with spread elements, or a modern pro style, or a NFL style offense. It doesn't need to be as much spread as the 4 NFL playoff teams today are running. He could just add more spread elements to the offense we ran in 2015 which already had a lot more spread elements than our offenses in previous seasons had.

Cams a smart coach I'm sure he can and will manage it. It's a work in progress, it's getting there.

like a gimmicky HUNH air raid spread? I'm sure he is not familiar with coaching it but no need to worry because we aren't going to it

I think a full on spread like the 4 remaining NFL teams run would be to complex anyway

Hell I would take the Arkansas offense and mix it in with the studs at WR and that would be championship caliber. If LSU had the imagination to use the athletic Tight Ends it would be amazing the results that will follow.

Oh there's that word again, thrown out by LSU fans in regards to any scheme that tries to score points. Are you perhaps the same tard who called Georgia Tech's offense "gimmicky" a few weeks ago? That was a classic.
