Which is disconcerting considering the amount of talent and depth at the wideout position this year.

Since spring practice, I always see posters mention depth at WR, but I've just never bought into it. Size is often brought up as an asset for our guys, but none of them seem to be able to get open. The big guys have no quickness. Jefferson has been our best WR by far, but, on a good offense, he should be maybe our 3rd best. He should be the Skylar Green of this team. Instead, he has to be the Michael Clayton.

IF BURROW WAS AARON RODGERS WE WOULD NEVER HAVE MET HIM.

You do know that Aaron Rodgers was a transfer QB as well right?

Baker Mayfield, Troy Aikman, Russell Wilson. All guys that transferred and ended up improving and being good quarterbacks at another stop. I am not saying Joe Burrow is any of those guys but to say someone has peaked at a school they have been at for 4 months is ridiculous.

Just a week ago he was being praised on here. One game resulted in him going from hero to goat.

That's the fragile mind of some fans.

I think many are concerned with his red zone numbers and low TD count

Some of our fanbase are either in middle school or live in a fantasy world. Yes, he has peaked. He's been here less than half a year and will get no better over the next year...
young/inexperienced QBs play all over the country, and play very well.

We can't use youth as an excuse - particularly for a guy who already spent 3 years in one of the best programs in the country.

And by the way, I like Burrow.

Can't improve if you O/L can't block.

Mett had some pretty great WRs to catch his passes. Burrow has a young WR corps that has a severe case of the drops. He's also constantly under pressure because his OL can't block. Throw into the mix an incompetent OC. You have to take those external factors into account as well.

What changed in his first year to second year as a starter?
The same guy that coached Jennings and Harris to a 15-17pt higher RAT than Jeaux?

You're attempt at being witty just that and only that. Yes I know that Baker Mayfield was TTEChs starting QB when he left(joe wasn't), Troy Aikman was promised by Switzer he would not be a wishbone QB at OK(until he broke his leg doing just that), and Russell Wilson was the greatest qb since Philip Rivers before being a grad transfer to improve his draft stock(due to his height). I have no idea where A-Aron went before Cal and actually don't give a shite. The point of my post which you actually reinforced was that our fanbase expects Joe to be all world and the reality is if he was all world he would've been the qb at OSU or in the NFL.

I like Burrow too. I am also a realist. No Burrow hasn't peaked, he just got here. Yes, there are young QB's all over the country playing well with less experience, one of them just whipped our assses. Burrow isn't him or them. He is not going to be. Will he be a qb that we can win with? I hope so and to an extent I believe so. How much winning is the question.

Receivers improve dramatically as they learn to run routes and drop fewer balls. All of a sudden the QB looks much better.

Grandpa Jerry needs to retire at the end of the season . Bring in Kendall Briles as Co-OC / Passing Game Coordinator and slowly let him take over play-calling. Allows O to save face, keep his boy E, and not have to technically say he fired his OC two years in a row.
