They are smaller because the paper is smaller now. The posters are made just like the paper, probably used the same plate (or what ever they use now).
I'm not buying it. As many of these that they sell...they could contract them out from someone with the capabilities to do a matching size. Bunch of BS.

What if you order all 6 at one time? Are they all the same size or are the first 5 still bigger?

Has anyone gotten a response yet

I am debating on emailing them. I refuse to buy the smaller print. I will get the Times Picayune version if anything.

Someone said the reason they are smaller is because they went to a digital press But you would think if this is the case they would line up an agreement with someone like the Picayune to print them for the Advocate and give them some of the profits

Hell, Id easily pay twice as much in order to get them all the same size.

People-
Feel free to vent, and email the Advocate...

But aren't we missing the MAIN point, We won the championship!

I'm hoping Coach Maineri can get us four more "small" posters to complete "another" set!

Why are the posters smaller?

It's pretty straight forward:
With the exception of the paper they are printed on...ALL "posters" offered by the Advocate are an "EXACT" reproduction of the Newspaper which they produced on that given day.

This is why the ones from the early baseball championships were the size they were...the complaints then, were that they weren't the same size as a "standard" poster. This convenience would have allowed them to fit in store bought "standard" frames.

In 2006 the Advocate made a major upgrade to New printing presses which substantially improved the quality of the Newspaper, along with a reduction in the actual size of the Newspaper.

Since that time, all posters offered, starting with the 2007 Sugar Bowl Victory, have been smaller than the previous posters offered. WHY?... Again, because they are an "EXACT" reproduction of the actual NEWSPAPER from that day.

It has Nothing to do with anything, but that!

I don't see where it matters. I ordered an old one many months ago to put in my LSU room and it looked like crap and it was the larger version.

You really by this line of BS?? They are losing money, they easily could have upgraded the press to fit the old size. But making the paper 10 square inches smaller saves them a lot of $$$.

They just laid off another 45 or so people a month ago. I guess for the time being we can just be glad they are still printing and we have something to hang on the wall.

The idea that they can't reprint it to match the other ones is absurd. With digital technology today, they easily could have increased the size and outsourced the production.

"You really by this line of BS??"

I assume you mean "buy"...
Not sure what BS you are referring to?

I'm sure the smaller paper size does save them money, not to mention it's more environmentally friendly and easier to handle. I never said they couldn't have kept the new Newspaper the same size as the old. I'm sure there were 100's of business considerations, both pro and con, considered in making that decision. Who knows, maybe keeping your LSU poster collection size consistent was even one of them.

The concept that "money" may have played a role in a "business" decision, really shouldn't shock anyone...should it?

I simple stated a couple of FACTS, the Advocate is now smaller and the print quality is better.

In addition, I never claimed they couldn't have increased the size of the poster. I merely tried to clarify why the size of the poster had changed.

To review:
1) FACT: The Advocate reduced the size of their Newspaper in 2006.

2) FACT: The Advocate has always produced posters which are "Exact Reproductions" of the actual Newspaper page.

Those are just FACTS....NOT BS...
If you chose not to like them are agree with them, that's fine, and certainly your right!
But they are facts!

Dear God, it was a typo, relax...

Which is why you get it on a glossy vanilla white piece of paper...Don't know what paper you're getting everyday.

You can take the "exact reproduction" and blow it up to make them the same size. It really isn't that hard. I think that's all we're asking for here...

No one here is complaining about the title or anything that LSU has done. 2 completely different arguments in every sense. Everyone here wants LSU to be successful, but that has nothing to do with The Advocate or their posters

Everyone here understands that and I'm sure someone at The Advocate thinks it is a great idea, but the overwhelming consensus of their customer base thinks it is stupid. The paying customers hate it, they are asking for a change, and The Advocate is ignoring the customer requests. It has NOTHING to do with anything, but that.

Golfer-

I am "relaxed"...
I actually find this whole deal hilarious. I think the people that need to "relax" are those here that are "freaking out" because a poster isn't the size they want.

Yeah, that would be covered by the "With the exception of the paper they are printed on..."
part of my statement from my original post.

If you don't like it, don't by it! But it is, what it is!
