Even if not in the NBA. Overseas pays alright.
If he can't even get a summer league invite, he's not going to make much overseas. I really wish him the best, but he unfortunately made a poor decision.

Totally agree he had some leadership qualities and with Wade coaching him could've made a huge jump this season. He has some Dwayne Wade in him and if he had more polish and basketball knowledge could've been a star. Still hope he lands on his feet but really don't get what he was thinking.

They guys Wade has brought in and recruiting are worlds apart better than blakeny.
You do understand that Blakeney is up there with Ben Simmons and Jarell Martin as the highest ranked players LSU has brought in the past 10 years? Dude put up 30 on a great Kentucky team in Rupp Arena his sophomore year. I honestly think he just kind of came into a bad situation. He had to fight with Quarterman and Hornsby for playing time his freshman year and his sophomore year his basically had no help. LSU lost Simmons, Quarterman, Hornsby, and Victor who were all starters from the previous year. I do think he could have benefited from playing an extra year or two or even transferring to a different school. He needed an experienced PG to help take the load off of him and Skylar Mays just wasn't that. He really is an extremely talented player though and he's one guy I think can make an NBA roster even as an undrafted player. He has amazing scoring ability and great athleticism as well.

Hornsby was on the Mavs roster for Orlando SL but didn't play much. Not sure if he's in Vegas but if so he'll be playing vs. Tone today.

Hornsby and Blakeney both will have to step it up defensively to have a shot at sticking on an NBA roster.

No worse than making a $300 bet and never paying it off

He would have had a great year under Wade and this staff IMO.

The kid didn't pan out as well as I had thought. He was fire when he was hot and couldn't nail an 8 footer when he was cold.
I thought another year he would have maybe caught on. Oh well.
Wish him luck though

In the lines of Ronnie Henderson and Trev Faulk
Faulk atleast already had his degree and he did play long enough to get an NFL pension.

Blakeney is playing now on NBATV btw

Bad question, but didn't the Patriots have a linebacker or some LSU player on their defense for a while? Could have sworn it was Trev but I guess not. Who was that? I know they had Kevin Faulk and Rohan. Who else did they have to earn the name LSU North?

the late Marquise Hill, Randall Gay, Jarvis Green were all Patriots

Hopefully Hornsby can make a roster . Poor guy's dad living in the hood playing a broken down piano he bought at a yard sale.

All things considering, Blakeney had a good game today. Unfortunately for him, he's a one trick pony. A streaky scorer who is not good at defense, not a good ball handler, not a good passer, isn't big enough to grab consistent rebounds.
His best chance is that he keeps showing he can score and he can land in a decent league in Europe. People need to realize that leagues in Europe are like conferences here. There is a major gap between the SWAC and SEC. It's not like "Oh, he'll play in Europe, he'll be fine." If he lands in the Adriatic, Romanian, Hungarian, Belgian, French, Czech, Latvian...he made a MASSIVE mistake
