LSU was the first team in the SEC to have a 3,000 yd passer, two 1,000 yd receivers, and a 1,000 yard RB.

That was an incredible offense. Too bad Chavis lost his mind by starting Welter at MLB.

Unfortunately, they both had miles/Cameron as their offensive coaches..

Mett improved a lot! so Harris will also improve a lot... just because Mett did?

I sure hope so but that is not something that makes me optimistic.

This makes no sense.

Hill was a beast. LF7 is a once in a decade (at least) type of talent.

I think they're saying that if Harris improves his accuracy and short throws, he'll be an attractive draft prospect and leave school early, leaving Etling as the presumed starter.

I like where your heads at, but he would have to have an absolutely monster year to even consider going pro early. Like 1st round lock kind of monster year.

Big difference was that Mett went from Studrawa to Cam as OC between years 1 and 2. . Harris has already been under Cam for 2 full years. Harris's improvement from here on out will only be moderate.

Yeah because QBs never make a significant improvement from their 1st season as a full time starter to their 2nd or 3rd

Get real. The biggest adjustment and improvement from a QB in his first season as a starter to his 2nd season is seeing SEC defenses for a 2nd time and knowing what to expect out there on the field. Regardless of the system or how long they've been in it.

I agree. It was the same with Rohan Davey. He had a very rough start but was terrific with experience.

Rohan was coached by Jimbo Fisher.

That's why he actually got better.

Harris has to improve. But the staff needs to improve with him. He does not get put in the best positions to succeed. Him always being under center and having only a 1-2 WRs on the field doesn't help him. If Harris played for Clemson and Watson played for us I think it would be pretty similar for both of them. Watson is in an open system caters to his skill set

even if we spread the field out like Clemson all of Harris slants would get picked off still.

Also in a 2WR 1TE 2HB set it's still 5 eligible receivers.

Can't believe people seriously post about Etling starting. Some of our fans really are complete morons

Landry and OBJ couldn't catch a cold in 2012 which really hurt Mett's stays. Them simply hanging on to the ball and the much better O Line had the biggest impact on the 2013 offense.

If he can improve his completion % by just 10% (short/intermediate routes) , it would put him near 60%. This is the short coming of our offense in my opinion. WR/TE drags, short curls/comebacks, & quick slants along with our power running game would make this offense nearly unstoppable. We seen a lot of comebacks and quick slants in 2013. Hopefully CLM/CCC and BH have the confidence and ability to work these back into our play selection.

I'm not saying Hill is as good as LF but let's not forget in 2013 Hill averaged 6.9 ypc which is ridiculous. He also had 16 TDs and would have had more, but he wasn't our short yardage runner which fell more on Hilliard and Copeland.

As for Harris, he has to get much better on accuracy but did not have the benefit of Landry's sticky hands and OBJs ability to get open and run after the catch. Dupre and Dural are good but have a long way to go to reach the formers' status.
