re: Harris struggled with accuracy at the Manning Camp

Here's a hypothetical conversation that won't happen anywhere on Earth on 9/3/16.
LSU fan 1: "Can't wait for this game today. Ready to see how Brandon Harris looks."
LSU fan 2: "Yeah me too, but I'm concerned about his accuracy after not being able to hit a few golf carts two months ago at the Manning camp. That's got me really concerned right now."

And golf carts don't make adjustments to routes to catch the ball or have hands...the focus should not only be on the QB's throw, but on where to catch the ball. I once threw at trees in the back yard, but, of course, they don't move. Perhaps Harris should go out at night with a buddy, turn out the lights, have the buddy shine a flashlight on the field, and have Harris try to hit the spots--if he can't find human receivers to throw to.

And now.. Watch this board turn on Harris after praising him throughout the offseason.

I remember about six years ago reading "jordan jefferson looked spectacular throwing vs air."

Only part that concerns me. Kid just struggles with short passes.

Les has lost control of the golf carts.

Meh, it's just one of many things we should consider as we evaluate if he's making any improvement. This is a negative.
Once practice starts in August, the sunshine pumpers will be touting that he looks all world while throwing in the limited practice that someone is able to go see.
I'm not going to worry about it either way. Sept. 3rd is when we can start making evaluations.

Jordan Jefferson looked spectacular
That year living football legend Collier Winters (Harvard) won the Air-it-Out contest.
I guess these guys were right. This is a STRONG indicator of quarterback talent and development.
quote:
"He's one of those guys when you watch him throw against the air, he's unbelievable," Palmer said. "You see his athleticism and look at the strong arm, his ability to make all the throws. His drops are about as natural as anyone I've ever played with and that includes Kurt Warner, Kerry Collins and Eli (Manning)."

It is truly amazing how people downplay the significance of a qb doing less than great in accuracy drills when the same qb has struggled with accuracy his whole career.
Yet I'm supposed to believe that everything will be all better when September gets here....you people kill me...all this expectation that you build for yourself and let the media build for you....it's turning into some kind of big joke every year.

If Harris struggles with his accuracy he won't be in the starting lineup for long. Miles can not gamble with this season at all. Etling will get the call.
I just pray that all of this is a mood point, please baby Jesus!!

The reaction to this thread is interesting. Harris has struggled with accuracy since he's been here. How you guys can manage skepticism of a report that he is still inaccurate is beyond me. Harris' inaccuracy caused Dural's season ending injury. He has to be better.

Exactly. These guys want to downplay that it was golf carts. Like the qb who hit every cart and receiver isn't really accurate.
It's just more if the same dumbasses who think its just practice, he'll be ready for an sec game with a heavy rush and top tier db's guarding and disguising coverages.
You're either accurate or your not, its not a situational talent.

Two years later, DJ Welter had the best spring, summer, and fall Chavis had ever seen.

Believe it or not, we had a senior that had his best spring practice. DJ [Welter] had the best spring practice I can easily say that I've been around.

He hit the same number of targets as Deshaun Watson. This isn't some grand goddamn indicator of talent. Stop with your portents of doom for the season because of a stupid drill.

I wasn't able to go this year, but I watched the competition last year. The Mannings, Dak, Boykin, and almost every other big name QB that attended last year struggled (Boykin in particular). Throwing to high school receivers and then golf carts really seemed to throw a lot of the QBs off.

Deshaun has never had a completion percentage below 67%. Harris has never had one above 55%. It's about using that data point in conjunction with what we already know about his game.
