We keep saying there is so much talent on that and we are giving credit for all the top 5 recruiting classes. We signed ~42 4 or 5 star players 2-3 years ago and only 14 are left playing. Of those 14 only half are making big plays and that number is dwindling week by week. Per Hanny.

No development and overall some guys are regressing.

Maybe we are really out matched. Time to take off the Purple and Gold Glasses.

He must go immediately

someone should make a list of the classes just on the OL and DL from 2017 to now and see who is contributing or has and who hasn't. I bet it's extremely disappointing.

and who's fault is it that Kentucky has more talent along the lines than LSU?

Same issue with Miles.

Lost focus on team needs and started chasing highly rated Skill players and not OL/DL/LB/TE

There’s plenty of skill talent…that has never been an issue for LSU.

Go back and look at the recruiting classes of Saban at LSU…look at the # of OL/DL/LB he recruited and compare to Saban the last 4 years…it’s the same. Hell, compare it to UGA.

Then look at the last 4 years under Ed…

Based on composite ranking of players currently on the team LSU ranks 5th in the country. No excuse for this. They still have top 5 talent on the team currently.

People overestimated the talent.

The linebackers should be backups.

The line has talent but there were many on here saying ali gaye would be a first round pick when that wasn't ever going to happen.

People didn't want to see the redflags in the offseason. At one point Orgeron was talking up 3 walk-ons as being major contributors at RB, LB, and TE.

LSU has a Nicholls corner getting significant snaps and a center from Harvard has held a starting spot for two freaking years. These are not the signs of a healthy roster.

The NFL draft will tell you everything you need to know about this team. After Stingley comes off the board, the LSU social media crew can take a long arse break.

I know a guy a who claims that LSU's starting line will all be NFL starters and most of the back ups also. He also think that that Ed O is the greatest coach in LSU history.

This is the bigger issue. We do need better recruiting on the OL, but their play should not be this bad. The DL is full of talent, but they are playing as individuals and not a unit. LB play is straight garbage compared to what we had under Aranda.

Watching the UK game it looked like they were more talented because they were better coached and developed and their coaches knew how to scheme and call plays.

The biggest issue is this is a poorly coached team because if you compare rosters only Bama and UGA have more talent with A&M closing the gap.

Has to be a bad judge of talent, coaching, or both. Doesn't matter, it falls on the HEAD COACH!!

Too many buy into the recruiting rankings. Sure Bama signs great classes every year, They rank them first and see look, Bama is ranked 1 and they win justifying all of their rankings.
Sure Georgia and Ohio State are up there too, but so us FSU, USC, Texas and Auburn.

We have talent, but it’s tilted to the WRs and DBs. Wd don’t have OL, TEs, and LBs. QB is ok, TB isn’t great and the DL isn’t dominant like many think.

Of course some of it us coaching and development. Sind was the switch to the 4-3 on D and the spread on O. And yes coaches are to blame for the many recruiting busts.

I suspect the new guy can do something similar to what Saban did when he came in. First year bring us a solid season (8-4). Second year push for West Division title and if we get very lucky win it. He will have advantages Saban didn’t have; three rings to sell, better facilities, the transfer portal and the new transfer rules. But he will face stronger West Division competition.

I honestly do not remember Saban recruiting elite LBs at LSU.

while i agree with Hannys points....most of that is because of roster mismanagement from Ed O. something he did masterfully prior to 2019. He has failed miserably since.

also based on talent still here.....still have the 5th most talent in the country. So its a combo of lack of development and lack of roster management where most of your talent is very very young.

facts are....Ed O sold his soul and the program for the 2019 ship. Im ok with that, but we as a program need to understand that and move on.
