If someone thinks our OL play has been avg or below avg they need to watch more football. Yea Bama has owned them but that just as much has to do with scheme. Last year the OL was top 2-3 in the SEC and top 10 in the country
The only position we have avg talent at is LT. All these other guys except Cushenberry and most of the backups were 4* recruits ranked top 5-10 at their position

What does this mean. It is just an opinion.

It means people need a psychological crutch in case their team has a bad year. They get the satisfaction of being able to tell everyone how they saw it coming if they do bad, then if they're wrong, they tell everyone how happy they are to be wrong.

True. Link to where I said weren't going to lose a game? We have concerns but independent, professional handicappers have us going 9-3 and no other team has better odds of winning in the SEC than Alabama.

, I suppose I dont get that. By this logic only blind optimism could be considered a legitimate opinion.

I think that's kind of their point.

This. LSU was graded as the PFF top college offensive line last season.

LSU's 2017 O-linemen are all highly graded as was the case in 2016 also, but not every year. LSU lost depth on the O-line in 2017 but that's not the weak link, not until the season plays out and we see how healthy they remain.

Still waiting to see LSU's QB development and production, that's the real weak link, the other weak link being LSU fans who've already given up on the 2017 season. Give the coaches and players the season before bashing them.

Well put! This season should tell us a lot about Canada's offense.

That was last year, we aren't talking about how good the 2016 line was. The concern is the 2017 line. Arguably the top 2 starters Pocic and Teuhuma are gone. We have only 11 guys on scholarship, which is unfathomably horrifying. They were playing 3 true freshman in the 2 deep in practice because they literally had no one else. Injuries are quite common on the OL and true freshman rarely are ready to play on the OL let alone 3 of them If you are not concerned about the OL for this season I would suggest you need to watch more football and with out the P&G glasse

No secret, LSU can't afford to lose anymore lineman, however the style of offense Canada plays lends itself to fewer O-line injuries, unlike Les, not as much pounding up the middle in tight spaces running the ball.

That sounds like a good theory and all but also sounds like wishful thinking I'd need to see some evidence that LSU over the years had a higher rate of injury on the OL during the Miles era than the avg team. Anecdotally I don't think so.

A good coach can gameplan to hide an offenses weakness within reason. Les gameplan was ground and pound no matter what.

That certainly was the Les philosophy, he's telling the opponent, stop it if you can, unfortunately one SEC team did too many times.

Canada's offense is more about spread offenses, and open spaces, instead of tight quarters, pound to the ground.

What Canada's offense does not test are the knees of the offense, instead it tests the heart, you will run!

Look I get wanting to be optimistic and excited about a new offense but this really makes no sense and doesn't answer the question. Frankly I do not recall LSU having an inordinate amount of OL injuries under Miles. If anything I'd think going straight forward would be easier on knees than back peddling or misdirection but my guess is it's a wash. Injuries happen regardless and LSU is awful thin on the OL

Do you really wanna play that? Take Payton, brees, and cam Jordan away from the saints.

This is just stupid. I'm just guessing, but it seems to me that spread offenses would lead to more knee injuries with linemen backing up. Les' offense had the linemen attacking and drive blocking.

I could be wrong, but we're all guessing on that, unless someone has statistics. But where you're definitely wrong is implying that Canada's offense tests the heart more than Les'. It is clearly the other way around. Les tried to outman them; Canada tries to outsmart them.

But you are wrong! Tight quarters as in Miles' drive blocking scheme allow for linemen to fall over more, often on another's leg.
