This is dumb as shite. You always want to evolve and progress. Use things bama doesn't have on film. Anticipate how they'll try to stop what they've seen on film and find a way to beat them.
Sean Payton does it all the time. He used a tunnel screen to Mike Thomas at the goal line (similar to what we ran against Auburn) all year last year. In the playoffs against the eagles, he ran a variation of it based on what a defense that had seen that play on film would try to do to stop it. It was 4th down, Brees pumps to Thomas coming in who is covered by 2 guys, then flips it to the corner to Kirkwood wide open.
Brady was on that coaching staff. He knows we need to constantly improve. And we will.

LSU did self scout. In the past the offense would look at the offense and defense look at the defense. On Sunday, Aranda approached Orgeron if the defense can look at the offense and tendencies and the offensive staff look at the defense and how they would exploit it.
The analysts did the work per E and Arandas instruction but heard they gained several insights into each others schemes. Aranda was quite pleased and so was O.

All signs point that we already self scout and we have shadow staff now that helps out. In the past we did very little of this. Times have changed.

Special Teams nearly blew tha Auburn game. LSU will not beat Bama if the Special Teams crap the field as they did last week.

Most teams, both college and professional, spend bye weeks self-scouting and tightening up loose ends/tendencies.
During that week there are also analysts dedicated to Bama film night and day. Then on Friday and Saturday, the coaches meet to build up the gameplan and what to focus on for the week.
Sunday the players start getting brought into that with film and walk throughs. Then next week they practice fully for Bama while continuing to make analysts spend every minute on game film.

I don't understand why Ott has this job. The dude is a degenerative gambler and it's horrible having to listen to him try to form a thought then verbalize it on radio. I know all media love the free food but this guy is a clown.

You struck a nerve with me baw, agree totally. I've been reading everyone's take, from Burrow's Heisman win to Tua's jock size, and his ankle. But nothing about that atrocious display on all areas of special teams, it looked like a bunch of special ed kids out there.
