Finally he settled on “I want to run the USC offense from early 2000s”.

He never "settled" for wanting to run the early 2000's USC offense. It's the same system that he forced his OC at Ole Miss to run and he missed his mark badly. Orgeron stated several times upon being hired as head coach at LSU that he envisioned his offense at LSU to resemble the early 2000 USC teams.

Orgeron was on the staff at USC during Pete Carrol's tenure when the Trojans had a 69-12 record, recorded 34 straight wins and won 2 national titles (played for 3).

Carrol recruited highly elite players all over the field but especially on offense. The offensive system that Orgeron has spent his head coaching career trying to emulate had Norm Chow calling the plays and several Heisman Trophy winning QB's and RB's executing them.

If O wants an early 2000 Pete Carrol offense, then he needs to add more elite talent to his offensive staff and offensive personnel.

You’re right, that’s what he said but the offense we’re becoming here looks nothing like that USC offense. That was Norm Chows version of the West Coast offense. We’re in the gun over 75% of the time and it’s increasing as we go, Chows offense was under center for every snap. Orgeron has flip flopped many times and named many offenses he’s claimed we will emulate but so far we haven’t looked like any of them.

“Yeah, I do,” Carroll said when asked Tuesday if he takes pride in going against the norm. “You know, I don’t mind being different at all. I didn’t mind it when we were in college either. We weren’t spreading out and doing all the stuff that other people were doing. We were running a pretty balanced attack back in the day and ran for a lot of yards (with) a lot of big time running backs.

When was it that O said he wanted to run Carroll's offense? Must have been a year or two ago. Brady will definitely spread it out 4 and 5 wide.

He was good, a true West Coast offense purist. He and the cat that helped Auburn to a 14-0 record in 2004, Al Borges were two of the last college coordinators who ran it in its pure form and my god is it beautiful at the college level.

Don’t tell on me for correcting you but Brady isn’t the OC at LSU.

He's said it for years. Anyone that follows him would know this.

He is now saying that the offense will go 4 and 5 wide - the opposite of what Carroll did at USC.

Anyone who follows Orgeron knows this.

Who's saying he didn't say that? It's common knowledge at this point.

Reminder, Ensminger is still the OC, not Brady.

With the actual OC, Ensminger? Just trying to clarify.

Then why do you keep bringing up Brady? He's not the OC. Seems odd to me.

Yep, said it prior to 2017 then blamed Canada for not doing it. He said it again last season then blamed the players for not doing it.

If he replies, it'll be:

"Oh, but what I meant was....."

The guy is a troll. No two ways about it. He constantly paints himself into corners, his own posts do it and then has little meltdowns because he was called on stuff that contradicts himself. It's hilarious.
