“ we did not have a running back who could make a play”
I’m not sure a running back with 14 touchdowns equates to one who couldn’t make a play.

No we have no concern. Btw how do you know that Orgeron input hurt or helped.
Correct me if my memory fails me here, but wasn't the offense much more successful after the motions and shifts were back in the offense?

I still ask why wasn’t this brought last year, what type of sports radio personality sits on a spicy story like that?

Tracey as the kicker influenced playing for field goals a bit.
Playing for field goals is an idiotic stategy. Field goals are something you settle for. They aren't a game plan. I don't care if Pele is your kicker.

Bill Belichick disagrees.

Again, it came up in the context of conversation about the wait and see nature people have of expecting to see a new offense at LSU. The Wildcat with Spencer Ware was another example he gave. It's not like Charlie just brought this up out of nowhere and said that he was reporting it.

It was more successful once the silly motion penalties were decreased. However that happened.
I have absolutely no clue who did what and when.

Wasn’t it due to the depleted line not being ready/healthy enough to handle the up tempo/blocking?
This is horseshite.
Up-tempo, spread sets, Etc are exactly what you're supposed to run when you have a depleted offensive line or one with a huge talent disparity between itself in their opponent.
These non-traditional offenses that we've seen ran since the Hal mumme days were designed specifically to help smaller schools with less talent compete with the big boys.
It works so well that now even the big boys run it with even greater success since they have the talent to go with it, so the days of just out talenting your opponent are over. Apparently LSU never got the memo.

yeh if you're passing...not when you are a running team

How many “silly motion” penalties did we have?
It is completely overblown because the motions are getting blamed for post snap penalties like holding and u sportsmanlike conduct.
It isn’t like we had 10 illegal shifts vs MSU

Let's see, Broyles Award winner finalists vs. bar fighting, hot-headed, worst head coach in Ole Miss history with a history of domestic violence who hires convicted felons as his right-hand man.
Gee, I wonder who the real problem was.

you do understand that when it takes a long time to get play in and then you have a few shifts (that just about every team has said is just window dressing and players are told to ignore it) and then you're snapping the ball in the last 2 seconds of play clock the defense gets the advantage right?

In the first three games of 2017 combined there were three false starts and two illegal shift/illegal formation penalties.

Man, you're gonna pull something if you keep reaching like this. Be careful.

Exactly. Against BYU and Chatanooga, some of it looked okay. But against speedy SEC defenses, it was strictly high school shite.
Beat the living daylights out of Nebraska in the Big 12 championship game 70-31 when Fat Bert finally let him do his thing. He went from one control freak in Fat Bert to another one in Fat Ed O.
The dude obviously has an abrasive personality that rubs fragile egos the wrong way but if you leave him alone to do is fricking thing he actually performs magnificently.

N.C. State’s offense had its share of success under Canada. The Wolfpack ranked No. 31 in the country in rushing offense this season and averaged more than 200 rushing yards in back-to-back seasons. Prior to last season, N.C. State hadn’t averaged 200 rushing yards per game since 1992.

His former Panther team finished second in the ACC (and 10th in the nation) in scoring this season after averaging 42.3 points per game in his only season in Pittsburgh. The Panther offense managed only 28.2 points per game under Georgia OC Jim Chaney the previous season.

the coordinator has an excellent track record of getting the most out of his quarterbacks, something that should be music to the ears of LSU fans.

After helping NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett resurrect his career in Raleigh, he left Florida after rarely seeing the field in Gainesville, Brissett improved enough to be selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Canada’s latest quarterback project was Pitt’s Nathan Peterman. In his only season under the offensive coordinator, Peterman set career highs last season with 2,602 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, a 161.2 passer rating and had fewer interceptions than in 2015 (six this season, eight last season).

Yes. (This is a general statement to all) there was no way Canada could be allowed to stay on staff after being openly defiant and in a demonstrative way in front of the players the way that it was reported on radio. I don't care if he thought Coach O was dead wrong, you can't do that shite.

Like I said Overblown.
Shifting that much I agree You probably have to accept some penalties but we did t have an enormous amount.
We had a ton of penalties but we had a lot of holds and a couple personal fouls.

Seems to me a HEAD coach should be able to tell anyone on his staff what to do. Where is the problem?
Depends on what he's telling him to do.
Is he telling him to do his job to the best of his abilities or is he telling him how to do his job?
The way I see it, a former defensive line coach who's never even been a coordinator shouldn't be telling his offensive coordinator how to produce yards and points.
You think the CEO of Ford walks down to the engineering department and starts playing with the engineers CAD programs?
You think the CEO of Bassett Furniture walks down to the shop floor and tells his laborers how to set up the mortising and rabbeting machines?
They set goals. He tells his engineers he wants an SUV that gets 30 mpg on the highway. Now figure it out. He tells his labors he wants a rocking chair that can meet a 5000 count duty cycle. Figure it out.
