Lol never said we didn’t have any talent Sammy. We couldn’t protect Burrow. We are trying to fix our protection issue now. Should be better going forward.

Why?
Because we have another year?
Charles got worse this uear.
I thinknit Will get better because we hired a guy who may make our offense Dynamic, but that again means we’re just giving coaches a pass this year.

And that’s my point These things happen but we fired Les and hired O to make them happen less. O is still losing at least 2 games a year he should win. And I think Anlargenpartnofnthatnis that O hasn’t figured out how to fix the offense.
Dude give it time. If you don’t see the progress the program is making, specifically with the LOS, QB, and keeping our best from leaving early, I can’t help you.

That’s a cop out.
Explain to me how I should see the progress.
What’s actually different?
I like Joe but otherwise we have yet to produce a QB from high school.
We still haven’t landed an elite OT
We havent recruited a 5* DE since Lawrence.
I see A lot of the same stuff that was going on under Miles.

We should have the most experienced and deepest OLine in a while this season.
2nd year with Burrow, including an entire off season, to become more comfortable with the offense and the receivers should lead to quicker decision making on his part.
Brady coming in.

First - welcome back - hope your health improves.
In response to me pointing out that these teams were not getting wins: Auburn 8-5 (3-5 SEC); Miss State 8-5 (4-4 SEC); Miami (7 - 6)
I posted a thread about this - but you're cherry picking stats. These teams had problems beating quite a few other teams this year.

State had the 2nd ranked defense. They weren't a push over. Auburn defense was ranked 14 two spots behind bama Miami's defense was ranked 18

So, You revert to "Winning The Battle In The Trenches"?
You will never out Bully a Bully who actually has a Top Rated Offense and we don't.

Charles was a 2 nd year starter at LT and he’s the one getting smoked by Florida.
Experience didn’t seem to help him there.
I’m just saying if your going to blame the OL and talent and say there is nothing we could do to help them, than don’t list the same OL players as the reasons we’ll be better next year.
I agree That Brady will improve our offense though.

You’re all fricking stupid. Our offensive line was manhandled and we again got assfricked by the refs by having the best linebacker in college football removed from our team until the game was over. Go blow Bama with Moscona, their not that much better.

You’re right. Charles has peaked alread. Just like O.

You’re aruugmwnt is that he will be better in a year
And I hope He is
He could also be worse in a year or the same.
Malone didn’t get better
Jordan Jefferson got progressively worse.
I hope And think everyone will get better but people blowing sunshine love to be condensending when they assume
It will happen.

Hmmmm, our offense put up 24(in regulation) vs a comparable defense (A&M). OU put up 34 vs a better defense (Bama).
We'd have a puncher's chance but I don't see our offense keeping up.

“ hasn’t improved”
Hasn’t improved from what? A four loss season that saw two of those losses being pretty embarrassing? I have to agree. We did improve. We only had one embarrassing loss this year.
This season, on the whole, was an improvement. Our SEC season was not. Losing to 2 SEC teams which had fired their coaches last yr after disappointing tenures is troublesome. imo
Hopefully, with a West title we can’t put much of this debate to bed next season.

That's because of our slide pass blocking scheme, not because Charles lacks talent.
In a slide, the LT doesn't take a deep first step as in a man blocking scheme, but rather takes a shallower back step and to the side (whichever side the "slide" is moving toward). This makes the LT very susceptible to a speed rush, which Florida took full advantage of.
Long story short -- our offensive linemen are fine. Its the goddamn pass blocking scheme that needs to change. More in-depth analysis along these lines has been posted several times already in this offseason.

Hanny is correct but LSU is closing that gulf
What do you base this on?
The 10 points scored on Bama in 3 years?
To total domination by Bama of the line of scrimmage when we play?
The fact that they continue to outrecruit us at the positions that matter most?
Seriously, the gulf between LSU and Bama isn’t getting smaller and won’t until the head coach at one of the 2 schools move on.
