History indicates otherwise. I will support O. We'll see.

i really keep laughing at at this LSU can get anyone, LSU is a 10 blah blah blah.

It is completely obvious LSU is not this sexy program everyone thinks it is. Yet Scona thinks we are this 10 that thinkgs we are a 6 and goes home with 4s.

Its asinine to be upset with Herman for wanting to talk to both sides.

Imagine if we recruited like this.

"You commit right now or our offer is off the table forever. Don't even think about anywhere else!"

I said the exact same thing. Why not tell Herman "Call me once you're done talking to Texas"? It was childish of him to just throw his sucker in the dirt and move on.

I agree, Alevia was trying to swing a big dick and really just missed with everything.

There was no effort or real intention to hire either. UF was the only reason Alleva pretended to reach out whatsoever. Alleva told the truth that we're no other official offers. Alleva declined interviews from interested p5 coaches. It was never going to be anyone other than Orgeron. How many of you were involved in these "polls" about wanting Orgeron? No one. Cause it was bullshite. It was fake.

Again I direct none of this at Ed Orgeron. Not a word. I hope he fricking kills it. Makes everyone who doubted him a complete buffoon. He is employee. His employer is an absolute joke. He should have had the balls to resign last year after Les debacle. At least leave with a little self respect.

neither of them are wrong, but blasting Alleva for not going more all out for neither coach who wanted to be here is baffling. Herman wanted Texas all along and Jimbo was never gonna leave the easier conference to come to LSU and deal with Bama every year.

Alleva found the Coach who wanted to be here, who wants to see this program succeed, and who the players wanted to play for.

I'm slightly miffed we didn't get Herman, but I'm not gonna sit and bitch about the hire. I remember the 90s, they sucked. I don't think Coach O sends us back to the Dark Ages ...

FWIW, I'm not a fan of Alleva and want him gone...but in this case I think he actually made the right call. Sometimes the best choise isn't always the most popular one.

The only thing that makes LSU anything less than a 10 right now if the Athletic Director.

So you don't think coaches outside of Jimbo or Herman would want to come here?

There's no "probably" about it.

I think Sexton and Jimbo were "working" LSU, so I am glad this did not get worked out.

I think Herman was UT bound all along, and Trace Armstrong was being deceptive and in collusion with UT alumni.

I do not think Fuentes was that much of a supposed upgrade over Coach O getting a chance.

Hanny is wrong this time.

ok and there are 9 hotter, sluttier chicks in this bar who others want before us. Hell there are some 11-25's that will do anal and will get chosen before us.

some may have, but Alleva kept the "search" small. PJ Fleck would've been a fun interview I bet although in the end I don't think a MAC coach, no matter what his record would've enjoyed the SEC West. Fuentes wouldn't have been a huge upgrade over CEO, and idk who else would've lined up to come here with the inept AD that we have. After the handling of Miles at the end of 2015 and this search, I would understand the uncertainty or unwillingness to jump on the LSU job.

But other p5 coaches who reached out about being here were not granted interviews. This shows a complete lack of due diligence. If at the end of the day we end up with Orgeron and Alleva does his due diligence, fine.

But he didn't. That's the issue

Not landing numbers 1 or 2 isn't the crime.

Going from those to a person not even on the top 50 coaching board is.

Take it a step further, fly to Houston. Meet with him face to face. Pitch your school, your conference, your facilities, the salary, the talent on the team, your fertile recruiting grounds, etc. If he is your man, MAKE him tell you no face to face. Saban told the Dolphins no, he was staying at LSU. And then on Christmas day the owner flew into BR and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. They got their man.

Having said that, I'm OK with O, I'm an optimist, glass half full guy. I think he learned from his past mistakes as a head coach. I'm a Tiger and I'm 100% behind him. I'm just not happy with the AD, and don't trust him when it comes to negotiations.
