I'm all for it. We've been too kind to opposing fans.

would think this would cause the Tigerland band to not be too welcome at other teams stadiums. If you have ever been to the Swamp you know that there is NO room on the sideline or endzone for bands but somehow the Gators aren't afraid to allow both bands on the field at the same time. I think lsu is really being a major vagina on this issue. The bands from opposing schools love the lsu trip because they get to experience New Orleans. Major pussy move lsu.

And UF gives shitty seats to visitors. LSU just started doing that last season.

So step down from your high horse.

Don't even start with me on tailgating.

LSU has been accommodating for opposing fans for far too long.

You must be on drugs. The visitors at Steve Spurrier-Florida Field are given almost the entire southeast corner zone and behind the visitors bench. Some are relegated to the upper north endzone but you people are always gone by the beginning of the 3rd qtr anyway.
The only valid point you have made is about the tailgating. You coonasses know how to do that and I've been to many games in Tigerland and had a great time. So you can get off your high possum and suck a big fat Gator dick. a-hole!!!

ETA On one of my trips to Tiger stadium our seats were on the very top row of one of those shitty upper's and there were two possums sitting on the row below that kept saying over and over again, "i'm so happy" as they watched the Gators kick that arse. We got quite the laugh out of those two fig tiger fans.

I am not opposed to this although I do enjoy watching the A&M band. And the Tulane band for comic relief. But how is this a safety issue? I have been watching halftime shows in Tiger Stadium all my life and never noticed a safely issue except when our horn section had to run over the Auburn field goal kicker.

I just read the Sporting News article. If this makes Alabama and other SEC schools limit themselves to just a pep band, then I say give Alleva a raise and a contract extension.

What are y'all afraid of? I know your band director got shite canned. Are you scared that the opposing teams band will make your band look like a high school band? Maybe you will keep the tradition of playing the other teams fight song or alma mater before exiting the field but if you are gonna puss out on letting them play on the field, what's next? They can only play during tv time outs?

The opponent's full band can still travel to Tiger Stadium, they just won't be able to perform on the field. It's not that big of a deal.

F King Alexander is a disgrace to LSU. He needs to be run out of Baton Rouge on a corn dog stick.

Sucks to hear. I was hoping for a home/home series with LSU, but without the band doing a halftime show, it sort of loses some of its luster.

I know that Neck and the vulgar chant songs have been banned but I propose we reinstate them for the Florida game just for the benefit of Murray Hill Gator.

(I posted the following in the other thread about this topic. It bears repeating here for those who aren't following that thread.)

The "safety" issue is totally bogus. This really started last year. Auburn was going to bring their full band (as they have for at least the last several years) and about two weeks before the game Alleva informed them that they couldn't perform for some lame reason. (I think it was that there were allegedly some presentations to be made at halftime, and there wasn't time for Auburn's band.) The folks at Auburn raised hell, and only after that did Alleva send a letter saying it was a "safety" issue and got the Auburn president (or AD...I can't remember which one) to agree to it. So, he was just looking for an excuse to keep a visiting band from coming and just cast around till he found one that sounded halfway legit. Total BS....

For those who say they don't care, just remember that the next time some other game day tradition that makes college football such a special and unique experience gets taken away. Get ready for more piped-in music, more commercials bombarding you every second while the band has to sit on their hands. This is all coming from the bozos in the marketing department, who think that the sterile, generic atmosphere one finds at NFL games is the gold standard.
