Had a good conversation yesterday with my Son in law <-- FSU fan

He is confident in his team thinks they win a close in a close game. He spoke about their counter play and qb being able to extend plays and make all the throws amongst the rest of the teams units.
The point I wanted to share is He compared last seasons JD5 to Jordan Travis 2 seasons ago.
He busted my balls about how critical I have been about JD5 saying everyone said the same things about Jordan Travis and how Travis grew into a legit qb. He feels JD5 will do the same thing and make a believer out of LSU fans including myself. I have been all about the coaching and projected growth for JD5 this offseason but admittingly a doubting Thomas until I see it.
Figured I would share a different perspective. Young man is extremely smart hates the Gators/fans and became an FSU fan to spite people in the area of Florida he grew up in.
Fixed it thanks for the education

Your Sister In Law is a dude?

FSU and LSU are damn near identical teams.
Returning QB, tall receivers, studs on defense returning.
Going to be a good one

We don’t beat Bama last year without JD5. That running TD he made to put us in position to win was key.

So he watched the video a week ago. Reality is we fumbled two punts. That won’t happen again. Perkins did not play. Two freshman starting on o line. Boutte does not make two plays.
Will be a tough game that LSU wins.

No they are not. They don’t have first round talent on their OL. They don’t have one of the best punters in the country. They don’t have the speed we have. However, they have only 2 games this year they have to go all out for and unfortunately for them… this is one of them.

The problem in the FSU game is that we DIDN’T play two freshmen on the O Line. Jones didn’t get the nod until the next week. We had Delly at Center, which resulted in a killed drive in the red zone on a bad snap, and Wire at T, who got worn the frick out all night. Jones would have been a huge improvement over Wire, even in his first game as a true freshman.

quote:My conversation with "him" lol was the team was in rebuild mode from the head coach to the entire staff except for Brad Davis & 39 scholarship athletes. Told "him" special teams wasn't giving up an entire years worth of blunders in the game this year.

They do have a lot in common, but I think we’re deeper. Especially at WR and RB.
I also think our defense, as a whole is better. With the exception of Jared Verse, who is a really good pass rusher, and Fabian Lovett, I’m not aware of any other elite players on D for them. I’m not sold on Braden Fisk yet either.

Josh williams had a 3rd down run in the 4th quarter that never gets talked about. When the ball was handed to him i really thought he would be tacled for a out a 4 yd gain. He turned it into a first down. Key point in win

I don’t see how analyst go brag about the win. Kelly’s first year and first game. Special teams blundered the game. It was a shell roster considering what they had to do in the off season. We didn’t know the starting tight ends name.
