I read about 20 minutes ago in todays American Press that this was a "mild" form of influenza. Not saying that if the entire football team got the flu it wouldnt kill their chances...but a deadly influenza outbreak I think not.

I heard you can catch the swine by eating hot dogs. Is this true?

Man do I have fond memories of home made guava jelly my neighbor made in FL. To die for when still warm on fresh toasted bread.

And to all the knowledge posted in this thread I have one word: OINK

The Doc I really hope you are not really going to Med School. There is a reason your in school still its because you dont know what the frick you are talking about. You have some intelligence about virus just enough to make it sound like you know what you are talking about here on the rant but if you were talking to a bunch of real Doctors you would sound like a fricking idiot. We are not doomed life will go on, if you want to cancel the football season because of the flu call and make the arrangments, just tell them you are going to med school and you are and expert on viruses

In general, if your goal is to call someone out for being an idiot, try and write a post that doesn't appear to have been written by a 10 year old.

A dumb 10 year old.

Just some food for thought...

+1

here's some other "gems" from thecenlatiger:

quote:

"I know alot of people on here think JJ is the next great QB at LSU but does anyone really think that RS wont be our starting QB until he is a senior? At what point does RS take over? I say no way this year maybe sometime next season"

quote:

I would have to say the only thing lucky was texas players hitting homeruns when they havent hit but 1 or two all season. That was the only luck i saw.

quote:

My cousin got married in 2001 i think whatever year 9/11 happened.

quote:

I really don't see Bryce Brown going anywere but Miami

I look forward to more "thought provoking" posts from thecenlatiger

So I most assuredly take what he says with a large grain of salt.

As to the vaccine and GBS:
LINK

*sigh*

I wish people would stop posting that. Yes, there are dangers inherent with any vaccine. This is why I am not recommending everyone go out and get it. But that entire article is written as if it is referring to this vaccine and it is not. It is referring to a vaccine they made decades ago.

And that wasn't a feature of manufacture...it was a chance fluke. It induced an autoimmunity to nerve cells at higher than normal percentages. There is no reason to believe that this vaccine will have that same trait.

We were just talking in the lab about this like an hour ago about folks going insane and killing all kinds of pigs in the hysteria kinda like they did in Egypt when it first came out.
