This is a damn lie. The game will go on as scheduled Saturday. If you say this youre a liar. Stop spreading this misinformation.
The game Saturday will not be cancelled.

Basically let's all just pray that things work out all good
Best case: it doesn't hit LA really at all, if at all; game goes on LSU kicks arse as per norm
Enh case: game is cancelled
Worst case: if it does hit, and the game is cancelled, let's just hope we aren't on every news outlet for the next month, if you know what I'm saying

On a five day forcast, the margin of error is about 300 miles either way. So,hopefully it will go somewhere else.

The Navy agrees.
But the problem is the possibility of it making landfall within 72 hours of the game.

I wouldn't read too far into that. I think the margin of error is static based on time, and therefore is not reflective of any percieved level of accuracy for this storm.

Pay attention to weather professionals, not wishcasting idiots on the Rant with delusions of being Jim Cantore or a hurricane hunter or a rescue pilot. The storm, if it gets here, won't get here in time to interrupt Saturday's game. The game will not be cancelled.

Well, I'm thinking that if Gov. Jindal orders NO to be evacuated on Saturday (which he said today is a possibility), the game would be postponed.

"Children" get a grip...
Geez...reading all the doom & gloom scenarios, one would think we all gonna die from Gustav. Let's be reasonable. 1) latest info from recon aircraft indicates Gustav has WEAKENED as he interacts with the mountains of Haiti. 2) The forecast error at 5 days is nearly 300 miles! As I have said in the past...I want New Orleans to be the bulls eye at 5 days because it won't come here...it will be on either side of the center line track by a large distance. 3) It's far too soon to cancel your weekend plans just because some "computer models" say Gustav is coming into the central Gulf. Today is only TUESDAY. We'll have a much better handle on where the storm is going by THURSDAY, 2 days from now.
I'd hate to see some of you if you had to live in "Tornado Alley". You'd be freaking out with every daily T-Storm. Let's take a deep breath and relax. Let's act from reason and not from some fear creating bloggers. I'll have more later.

I agree the game won't be canceled, but this is wrong. Kickoff will probably be within the 72 hour to landfall window.
So yes, it can be here in time to interrupt the game.
And outside of Bob Breck, I find your "professionals" basically just repeat what the "wishcasting idiots" say.
They all just basically show whatever the NHC puts up on their site, except with nifty graphics.

Sad thing is that I know of at least one of the folks in here IS a professional meterologist.
But I guess he is a wannabe of Jim Cantore too, just because he posted his thoughts on the Rant.
