So I guess you canvassed the entire area and perfomed a census to formulate the opinion that everyone in New Orleans hates LSU?

Dude no one is saying there aren't plenty of LSU fans in NOLA. What we're saying is there's an unusually high number of Bama fans. I live there now. I see them everywhere. Its simply not possible that this many are actually tied to the school in any significant way. They are bandwagoners who for whatever reason hate LSU and/or Baton Rouge. It makes me want to puke.

From my experience they are losers in real life that need to be a part of something "positive". These are the same people that bought into the USC crap in the early 2000's.

My guess about Nola is its the trashy segment of saints fans hating on us.
I realize that encompasses a lot of people, but that's who I'm blaming.

What number of Bama fans would you consider to be acceptable? Not a flame, but what would be acceptable or even tolerable?

Is it the johnny-come-lately fans that are annoying or just Bama fans in general?

Alabama has a large Alumni following in Louisiana and a lot of band-wagoner's too. Just like LSU has in B'ham or Atlanta.

I agree with Atlanta. I don't see much purple and gold around Birmingham.

I've got 3 sets of alumni on my street actually.

Alabama football is kind of like Duke or Kentucky in basketball where you get fans nationwide with no connection to the university.

No it's not. I didn't see much Alabama stuff from let's say the mid 90's to 2006.

Is there a law that says one must attend the university that person cheers for? I've been a Bama supporter for 30 yrs and I never went there. I do, however, have a college degree, which I often suspect is a commodity that has eluded most of the posters on TD. Just FWIW, the vast majority of my friends who are LSU fans, and there are many, never attended there either. I guess anyone who gets so bent outta shape over someone's choice of team to support has greater issues than can be solved on this board.

There are a lot of bandwagons fans for the teams that are the hot team for the moment.

My parents used to take us down as kids to our relatives house in Birmingham. I was only 7-8 at the time and just remember how much they were into Bama football, especially when Bear Bryant was coaching.
That stuck with me and been a fan since.
Grew up in Chicago, now live in Colerain Ohio and don't see many people wearing Bama gear but then again, I don't see any rednecks either.

Bandwagon. I have seen it across the country with Alabama fans over the past 5-6 years. Ten years ago, I never saw anyone wearing Alabama gear. Now, everyone claims to be an Alabama alumnus.

Maybe we LSU fans need to all move to Alabama so they'll know how it feels to have enemies in their midst.

No shite. I work in Broussard and at least 3 of my coworkers are Tide fans. Surprising considering the LSU and UL sentiment around the area.

took a picture of Louisiana license plate with "CRIMSOM" personalized on it. Seeing as I ride to games in a truck with "TIGER" as the license plate it was a sight to see.

Is this current regime of bandwagon fans broader than the Miami Hurricanes fans of the early - mid 90's?
