Despite having played for Alabama, Greg is not the Bama homer most people make him out to be, although I do think he gets a tad whiny at times. Joe Tessitore is one of the best in the business.

agreed.......his pregame analysis was very fair. but, i felt like he went off the deep end just a tad post game....which i found a bit unusual for him. he generally does a good job of being unbiased in most of his evaluations that i've seen.

He’s a good guy in real life. Hung out with him at the Hilton bar after we beat State and he was very complementary

I keep hoping for Sean McDonough and Todd Blackledge. Instead, this is the fifth time we get Tessitore/McElroy this year.

Nothing wrong with Greg McElroy. He is good at what he does and despite the homers on this page, he does not interject LSU hate in his analysis.

Eh, I don't see it. He's a Gump through and through, but he does a great job when he's ON the job as an announcer. He calls the game as he sees it without any homerism.
After the games, he's free to be who he is. Can you fault the guy for loving his former team and showing it? If you can, then I guess you haven't watched Marcus Spears or Booger McFarland very much this year, either.
Marcus is a great analyst, and very fair. But he's also purple & gold at heart, and it shows - a LOT. Booger too.
So I'll give him a break as long as he stays neutral when announcing the game.

The committee is constantly saying the wins matter and no 2 loss team has ever been in the playoff.

Bama boy is actually really good on the call. Tessitore on the other hand is a tool. Every other play has him screaming into the mic. He’s awful.

McElroy is an awesome commentator. One of the better on the SEC Network/ESPN.
