I am sure once Brooks became litigious, that Kelly was no longer allowed to speak to him.

But Kelly didn’t say that yesterday. He said he was “by Greg’s side throughout this ordeal.”

Why didn’t he say “I was by Greg’s side until our legal team instructed me not to”?

I still haven’t seen an explanation for this.

Brian Kelly certainly didn’t do anything wrong. I don’t know enough about the surgeon except what Google says, and that he’s an adult neurosurgeon, so I don’t know…

I feel like if you wanna sue somebody, at least sue the person/hospital that actually did the operation. Brain tumors in healthy young athletes are extremely rare so obviously the coaches thought a headache was just a headache. I just don’t see how any liability falls on LSU staff. At some point they did realize it was serious and from there he got help.

-I had all the same symptoms as Greg for over a month. Took me over 40 days to convince someone to scan my brain. Greg was operated on sooner than I could get a scan. If everyone that has vertigo was sent to get a scan, the line would be out the door and insurance companies would be broke. Facts

This is simply not true. Sure there are benign causes of vertigo that may not need a scan initially but you can go to the ER for about anything and get a CT if you want one.

There's no way to win a PR battle with the Brooks family ( although I understand BK's comments).

Well, I had vertigo for over a month and not one of my doctors suggested a CT. They assumed it was BPPV and kept adjusting the crystals in my ear. I had to ask a Neuro guy who is a friend to get me a scan for my own peace of mind. Took a week or so for insurance to approve. Needless to say, doctors usually think horses not zebras which is usually crystals being off in the inner ear. Start to finish from symptoms to scan was over a month.

I said ER or even freestanding ER or urgent care with CT… if you really wanted one you could have got one. ER’s are trained to rule out the bad stuff first and you don’t need a prior auth at the ER…where as primary care are typically going to treat the more common causes first because they don’t want to deal with the paperwork/hassle with insurance unless all other options are exhausted

At the out of the loop national scale yes, but at the state/local/lsu level the Brooks name will be a scarlet letter.

Bottom line is LSU didn’t give him cancer. He was on the operating table as quick or quicker than anyone else who starts with vertigo symptoms. The surgeon was a neuro surgeon. Complications happen during surgery. It sucks all around. But LSU didn’t cause Greg to be in his current condition. LSU has shown nothing but love and support.

Regardless of the truth, Kelly's reputation has been damaged beyond repair at this point.

Honestly, I'm in the camp that believes its tarnished the LSU brand. They're eating them up on social media.

Not sure what credibility Kelly has left in many living rooms. Likely undeservedly so.

Personally I think Greg’s lawyer is trying to apply public pressure on LSU to settle out of court for a substantial sum. It’s probably smart as far a negotiating tactic.

Just tell the truth, and also file a defamation suit.

Make everything public.

This is for LSU's sake. The truth needs to be public, or this will be used against LSU by every recruiter out there.

Of course they are (local counsel is a woman btw) but it's backfiring. If LSU was interested in early resolution, they would have already settled and Kelly wouldn't have issued a statement. What makes this PR move even bigger bullshite is it was made right after Defendants filed Exceptions of prematurity. Plaintiff knows the suit is premature, and knows their statements are premature, seeing as the panel hasn't even come back yet.

Elaborate. What does this mean? What panel are you referring to?

Can y’all just chill and wait for the LSU lawyers to defend this? Why do people freak out after only hearing one side of the story? Have people learned nothing after all these years? I just don’t understand it.

You have to admit that if Brian Kelly was publicly saying that Greg Brooks was walking when in reality he wasn’t and Kelly hadn’t talked to him in months that’s a bad look right?

Pretty sure GMA shows Greg walking with a walker in physical / occupational therapy. Could it be that Brian Kelly got news that Greg was up out of bed taking his first steps in therapy? I don’t think Kelly would just pull that from the sky.
